Best RB of all time?

IMO a player can achieve greatness through championships but it doesn't have to define him. The Marino/Dilfer comparison is played out but worthwhile.

I'm even more amazed by the people listing Barry Sanders. Did the guy even win a playoff game? Choke artist, I'd say Kevin Faulk had a better career.

I'm stunned that there are people who don't even put Brown in their top three or even top five... He's probably the best football player to ever put on pads, and it might not even be close.

I think it's an age thing really....I know I never saw Brown ever play but I've seen film and DAMN

Jim Brown
Walter Payton
Barry Sanders

In some order, this has to be the top three... And I still hate Mike Ditka for not calling on Sweetness in the only Super Bowl the man ever played in, opting instead to give the ball in the red zone to Refrigerator Perry.

Really? Hate him for that?

I can't think of any way Jim Brown finishes anywhere but first and by a substantial margin. Guess we could take limited time periods and some folks might approach him, but dude was a man among boys, even in the NFL.

Yeppers, John Brown did more in 12 games than most can do in 16. Plus he flat out ran over folks, like Earl Campbell, my personal #2.

Heisman Trophy (2628ttl/239ypg)
Offensive ROTY
Offensive POTY x2
MVP
'90's All Decade Team
Pro Bowl every year he played

And yes they (notice I didn't say "he") won a playoff game in '91 against Dallas.

It's jaw-dropping how much some people attempt to associate an individual's prowess with team success.

Let's look at this another way; the Detroit Lions, as a team, have won one playoff game (cited above) since 1957. (kinda amazing really) During that span though they had 5 NFL Hall of Fame players. (not counting Sanders) In any team sport some of the greatest players to ever play never won a championship since a player never wins anything in a team sport...teams do. An individual player can only do what they can do.

I already feel bad for Ndamukong Suh.
