Best Whiskey

Last weekend, I went to my buddy's house "for a beer or two" and took along a bottle of 12 -yr Glen Fiddich just to let him taste that, as opposed to his usual Old Crow.

When I finally made it back home, the Glen Fiddich did not make the ride with me, which was OK at the time, as I was swearing off all hard liquor forever.

... but now, I kinda miss it. :cray:

update: My buddy did not drink it up, but said, come get this damn stuff out of here! And tonight, 2/05/14, would be a good time to take a wee sip. :loco:

Try it with Dr Pepper, Diet Pepsi, with a lime. Just sayin.

I have been told some hot Dr Pepper and Candian Mist with some lemon, in a thermos will keep you very warm during a cold snap

I hate the taste of any diet drink or the lack of taste, but that is just me,I rarely ever drink a soda,I am a water man, unless it is cocktail time :)

Close. I believe blend that Weller with some other barrels to make their 15.

But that info has now made Weller impossible to find. Which ****ing sucks. It was my favorite and inexpensive enough to drink everyday

Is this the one your talking about
Just picked it up for $18 bucks

No, there's a 12 year old. Looks like this:

Well, in the late '60's and early '70's there were too many times at parties and the student section at football games the aromatic oduer of Jack Daniels along with whatever else happened to be in the stomach of some overly imbibing student turned me off on bourbon to this day. The immediate association ain't pleasant. Poor me.

So I drink scotch. I like several. My favorite is McCallan's 12 yr. neat.

Glenmorangie 10 yr. to mix half&half with Drambuie over rocks for a Rusty Nail.

When I want to blow my own mind I take a wee drap from a bottle of 18 old Laphroig.

Bourbon is too sweet for my taste now.

If you are a bourbon drinker .. do not .. I repeat .. do not try Laphroig 18 neat unless you have a mature palate for real whiskey.

went back and read the first half of this thread

i've never wanted a cigar and a glass as much as i did while perusing this thread

:hi: gentlemen

I drank Evan, Jim, Jack (depending on my money) through high school and college until I started reaching for the nicer stuff my senior year of college. since then, I've tried a little bit of everything.

If I'm mixing a drink for tailgating or watching a game on TV (drink+coke), it's usually Jim. Or I'll have airplane bottles of Jim, to save money.

When I'm spoiling myself, for casual sipping I very much enjoy Single Barrel, Gentleman Jack.

When I make a drink like an Old Fashioned, I prefer Maker's. Now that I think about it, I sip Maker's a lot because it's not over the top on the price or the flavor.

You guys have definitely got me interested in trying all sorts of new stuff. I can't wait to get my hands of some of these.

Looking to try something different. May see what kind of Buffalo Trace experimental I can find.

Anyone tried Breckenridge Bourbon?

I went out tonight with the intent to try some Gentleman Jack ... but for 2/3 the price, I found another TN whiskey, and just got George D 8-yr.
