Most of these guys you think are bandwagoners don't care too much for the team itself so much as Peyton.. so how are they bandwagoners?

They seem like loyal Peyton fans to me and i have no problems with that. I am a Falcon fan, but i like to see Denver, New England, and Kansas City win because of the Tennessee connections. I did live in Atlanta for forty years and had season tickets to the Falcons from their first season. They did not win very many games, but we still went to every game until they enclosed our seats and triple the price of the tickets. I will admit, attending a night game in Knoxville and an early Falcon game the next day was pretty tiring. We would start tailgating at the Falcon game at 9:30 am.

Adrian Peterson ran for 199 yds. today and finished just 9 yds. shy of breaking the all-time NFL single-season NFL rushing record. Will Peyton win an unprecedented fifth NFL MVP award?

If you look at he was out of football for a year, went to a brand new team, and has that team winning its division and at the top of its conference with a first round by & homefield advantage for the playoffs....then yes....it is truly incredible what his presence has brought to Denver.

And that same Colts team minus a lot of guys, with a rookie QB is in the playoffs. It proves nothing. It takes nothing away from Manning to admit how great Tom Brady actually is.

Maybe it simply proves how much of a stud Andrew Luck is....along with the weapons that Peyton had to use....perhaps?

This thread is almost certainly going to be moved and it is, admittedly, woefully premature. However, best wishes to Peyton for, hopefully, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to lead two different franchises to Super Bowl championships. The Broncos are definitely on a roll going into the playoffs, riding the crest of an 11-game winning streak. Peyton also has a much better defense at his disposal than he had for much of his career at Indy.

The bold part is what makes the Broncos scary this year!!

Peyton is the best player to ever play the game of football!

Really?

Line him up at OT and see if he can block J.J. Watt, or stick him out on the corner so he can try his luck covering Calvin Johnson.

Maybe if you wanted to argue that he is the best QB, there would be room for discussion. But, it isn't obvious.

We truly have idiotic fans.

We have people who only follow the Titans because they represent the state of Tennessee telling people that follow other teams because of players that one time represented the state of Tennessee that they aren't true fans.

If this is you, you are an idiot. You don't control how people root. You just worry about your idiot existence.

I root for UT players more than any NFL team. If you don't like that, tough. Its jackasses like you that get knocked out for running your mouths.

Thanks for permission, I will.

Haven't noticed anyone "pissing" on the Colts. I don't.

I wish TN had a Pro team when I was a kid, it would be more fun to have that type of loyalty.

Your argument is as Ridiculous to me as mine is to you.

Would be funny if the Oile...I mean Titans moved back to Texas and The Colts moved to Tn.

And I would still root for the Titans. I grew up with them as my Pro Team. And a lot of people on here have pissed on the Colts simply by being on the Broncos d!ck 24/7. I've seen a bunch of people switched favorite teams over night and profile pics and screaming their love for Denver like they have been pulling for them their whole lives. There are more people who have made my same argument then not in this thread. Read the previous posts

Get out of here Pats fan. Don't be butthurt that your precious Tom Brady is second best to Peyton and always will be. Broncos are the hottest team in the league with a much better defense than NE and an offense that is clicking on all cylinders. Thanks for coming.

Not a Pats fan at all. Just raised and played sports the way it should be: Team success outnumbers individual success and stats all day. At the end of the day, quarterbacks will always be measured by Super Bowls. Brady has 3 in 5 trips and Manning has 1 in 2 trips. Plus, the head to head record isn't so pretty. Nor is Manning's playoff record to Brady's. I can't understand the infatuation with people wanting individual awards over team success.

I knew it would not be long before someone with Little Man Syndrome would be running around calling people jackasses and acting all tough.

And what happened earlier this year?

A meaningless, early, regular season game. Peyton didn't get his flow going till mid season at the earliest. Someone posted the Pats are the hottest team right now, the Broncos have pulled off like eleven straight. I'm not a Broncos fan but I'm a Peyton fan so iI'll go with Denver. The Pats haven't won sh*t in about ten years, except a couple of second place trophys to the younger Manning.

No Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio.

No Reggie Miller.

Never wavered on being a fan despite being turned onto those teams as kid because of them. I don't even like conversing about sports with bandwagon fans. So many Colts(Peyton) fans talked crap about the Titans and now they're not even Colts fans anymore. So stupid and worst of all, a lot of them will probably just jump from the Broncos in a couple years to their biggest rival, the Chiefs, because of Eric Berry. smh

Speaking for myself only, I do not have any deeply routed allegiance to any NFL team. I didnt grow up with any particular team. When I watch the Vols play I'm glued to the game for every snap, where as NFL games I turn on while I do other things around the house.

I rooted for the Titans to beat Manning in the playoffs back in 1999 because I wanted to see the new state team do well. I did not care about them before as the Oilers though. Once the Titans started sucking and gutted the team of all the veteran players I liked, I veered toward wanting Manning to get a ring (or two). It had nothing to do with the Colts organization as a whole and was 100% Manning from day one (although I did start to like some of the other players on the team such as Clark, Saturday, Freeny and Wayne). Now that Manning is with the Broncos I root for them. All the better they have a couple more Vols on their team. When he retires I don't know who I will root for. I will probably defacto back to the Titans just for instate reasons.

Mostly I cheer for former Vols to do well though. I also pull for ATL because Mike Smith is an ETSU alum as am I. Then I loosely pull for Green Bay for my in-laws (I even allowed my 18month old son to be claimed as a Green Bay fan. That's how little allegiance I have to any particular NFL team).

To sum up; call me a bandwagon fan if you want. I freely admit no true allegiance to any NFL team. I like to watch it but it's nowhere near the level of engagement as college is for me.

I've been a Bulls fan my whole life. I loved those playoff series against the Pacers in the 90's. I always liked Reggie and he's became a pretty good announcer too.

As for the MVP discussion, I think Co is the best option. Had Peterson broken the record he would have deserved it soley on his own.

Despite Denver making the playoffs last year, they backed in at 8-8, losing 2 or 3 of the last 4. This year they clinched the division with 5 weeks left and finished tied for the best record in the League with the #1 seed in the AFC. You cannot deny Manning's impact.

Peterson of course is the sole reason Minnesota made the playoffs as well. Falling just shy of the rushing record after two torn ligaments in his knee is remarkable. I was wanting that game yesterday to go into OT so he could get the record. He thought he had it but handled it very well when the reporter told him he just missed it.

Really? I honestly don't give two poops about the pros. It's college football all day, Vols all day. Peyton is the best representation of the Vols in the NFL, so I'm going to root for him until he retires. Then maybe I'll find another team. Who cares? Why does it hurt your feelings if I prefer to root for a player over a team.

Get over it. I'll root for Peyton over any NFL team, any day. Call me bandwangon, I don't care.

Is Roethlisberger a better QB than Manning because he has 2 rings? Or Eli?

As you said, it's a TEAM sport. Championships are won by entire TEAMS. Therefore you could argue that Brady played on better TEAMS than Manning but that doesn't mean that HE is better individually.

Personally I think Brady is great. He's better now than when he actually won his rings (his best statistical seasons have ended in Superbowl losses). I also feel that he and Belichick are the best coach/QB combo ever. I'm not sure Brady would have had the same success under any other coach.

Manning on the other hand has shown the same level of susscess under 4 head coaches now. He didn't have the privilege of playing with some of those early Patriot defenses that Brady won 3 Superbowls with either.

I'll also throw in that last year the Patriots got to the Superbowl having beaten only ONE team with an above .500 record and that was a last second missed FG away from not happening in the AFCCG.
