Biden's first day in office

Well, lets see what Biden does today.

Last night while killing time this popped up on the list when listening to something completely different on YouTube. One of those things that looks too weird not to check out. Somehow Rasputin kinda fits both this topic and your VN name, so .... Just don't listen too long; you won't get it erased from your head.

I've never heard of Boney M, but that song was catchy and it actually told a story about his rise and fall.

You get a "like", sir.

I'd never heard of Boney M either; I listened to a couple of others, and they aren't bad if you are in the mood. I'm listening to a YouTube mix now that has CCR, Stones, Hollies, Doors, etc ... and the suggestions down the right side are eclectic to say the least. That's not bad - expands the horizons sometimes with stuff you would never have heard otherwise.

I always thought the story about Rasputin's murder was fascinating. The guy didn't go easy!!!

You need to share what you've been watching on youtube, I've never heard of this band but they were also in the late 70's which was before I could afford cable and get MTV.

Right now I'm listening to

Following the links on the right of the YouTube screen is interesting if you pick stuff you don't know. We never got exposed to a lot of popular music from other countries - British, yes; but groups like ABBA might never have happened except they won a European awards show. Apparently Boney M was a Euro-Caribbean group from West Germany. The only other German pop song I remember was 99 Luftballons by Nena.

The YouTube lists as you scroll down, and as you go further the selections get more varied. If you clock on something like this, the list gets even more varied.

One of my favorites is this ... as a reminder of bad choices. Also something I can get it reasonably right on my practice pipes.

Being of Scottish decent, I love good bagpipes. This version is equally as good as the Dropkick Murphy's. and the bagpiper's are legit !!

I'm listening to the Corrs and my first suggestion was Blondie.

If you like Heart Like a Wheel by the Corrs, try the version by Kate & Anna McGarrigle. My son put stuff on an iPod for me years ago; it was a part of a soundtrack but I can't remember the movie or the other songs right now (age does that to you) - the movie which I never saw was about the decline of a marriage and divorce, so the song fits.

For another bagpipe change of pace, try this. I think the guy plays the pipes actually like a whistle rather than classical pipes. I don't hear or see him fingering what would be bagpipe gracenotes.

I could listen to music from 2000 and back for the rest of my life. The crap that came after that time is the worst crap ever and the stuff that is considered music today sucks and I will never listen to it.
