Putting Bama in causes to much controversy. That's not even taking into account a 2 conference playoff. Short of a blowout I think TCU stays in. The politics don't line up for Bama, for once.
Based on what? You keep saying they’re not better with nothing to back it up. Your argument all year has been they barely escaped average teams at times; the same as Bama vs Texas, Texas AM and Ole Miss? Bama was a 12+ point favorite in every one of those (20+ in two of them) and won by 11 total. Bama is just as close to being 7-5 as they are 12-0.Better record hasn't mattered this year..... It is why 2 loss LSU was in front of 1 loss USC and Oregon for multiple weeks. It was why 2 loss Bama was in front of 1 loss Clemson for a few weeks.....
Does TCU deserve to be in at 13-0? Of course.
Are they still one of the best teams in the country if they don't go 13-0? Of course NOT. There is no one in their right mind who would think TCU would be a single digit dog or favorite vs OSU, Bama, Tennessee, or even USC. And if the CFP is about to have to choose from a bunch of non conference champ P5 teams, TCU would not be at the top when it comes to who is the best of the group....
Ohio State looks to be in with USC's loss.
But if TCU loses, and you have to choose who is better between Bama and TCU, no one in right mind would pick TCU...
