There would be less if Tennessee got in. With Bama you get it from he Tennessee, TCU, and 3 of the power 5 conferences with 2 SEC and 2 Big 10 teams in the playoff. TCU is just an easier pick to justify all around. Looking like it may not matter though.I think the reason Bama getting in being controversial is because there will be people throwing out Tennessee as a reason that Bama shouldn't get a spot and there will be people saying TCU should get a shot.... I think there would not be controversy if we were ranked ahead of Bama and the convo was Tennessee or TCU
Since when are Vegas odds part of determining who makes the playoff? Being favored makes zero difference. The question should simply be are they capable of beating XYZ. Yes, I will go on record of saying TCU is more than capable of beating Bama on a neutral field. They have a common opponent in TX both played in Austin, TCU fared better than Bama vs. a full strength TX not a backup QB. Bama’s weakness is their secondary and Duggan and Co are capable of exposing that.So you are going to go on record and say that TCU would be favored competitively vs the likes of OSU, Bama, or Tennessee?
