Okay. We beat a DII school outside TBA.
Road map to the Dance looks like this:
@Vandy W 10-10 2-3
vs. Auburn W 11-10 3-3
@Kentucky L 11-11 3-4
vs. Georgia W 12-11 4-4
vs. USCjr W 13-11 5-4
@Florida L 13-12 5-5
Arkansas W 14-12 6-5
@Alabama W 15-12 7-5
Ole Miss W 16-12 8-5
@USCjr W 17-12 9-5
@LSU W 18-12 10-5
Vanderbilt W 19-12 11-5
Should that happen, we're in, regardless of what happens in the SEC tournament. Should be no worse than a 9 seed as well.
Yes true statement. It counted against our record therefore it counted IMO. I don't get how this is even debatable. I simply said we have won out of TBA that's all, and we have. Nobody said it had to be a top 25 d1 program I was simply saying we have won away from home that's all, not looking to argue just correcting an error by a poster.
It's probably hurt rpi I remember a few years back I think it was lsu we were playing for our last game and pearl was saying how win or lose it would hurt or rpi.
I think we'd make it in if we finished 9-3 in the SEC to make us 10-6. That'd be 18-13 with wins over #13 UF at home, #11 UConn at home, Vandy at home. Saying we finally put the pieces together and win the games we're supposed to, of course, which is a prayer at Lbest. I'm not saying this will happen, I'm just saying if it does (and I believe 9-3 is within reason) then I think we'd be in the tourney, especially considering the addition of Stokes.
I see our 3 losses coming from @UF, @UK, @Vandy, @Bama - we steal one of these and beat Vandy in Knoxville.
GO VOLS
Bet money there's a chance or bet money that they do?
Well yes, it's mathematically possible.
But it would be like Redskins fans saying at the beginning of November, "We don't have a QB, we haven't done jack on the road, but we might still go to the Super Bowl!"
Get real.
I like everyone now projecting all these road wins, not one week after we lost to a garbage Georgia team on the road.
I'm sure. :loco:
Hey hey, the SEC is pretty tough this season. Kentucky, Florida, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, and Alabama are all going to make the tournament. Arkansas and Ole Miss are both bubbles. I wouldn't consider Tennessee a bubble team yet, but they are certainly playing well enough to where they could become one in the future.Exactly but apparently the sec is now a juggernaut and that is impossible.
I lol'd at #3. Maybe in past years. This year, no.im not hating on anyones opinion but in reality, it's a long LONG shot at best.
the facts.....
1) we are a horrible road team and we have 4 of the sec's top 5 left on the road (uk - which is probably the toughest road game in the whole country, uf and vandy, which will be plenty difficult, and bama, who probably plays tougher defense than us)
2) we are poor offensively and far too inconsistant. Look at the long scoring droughts the last two games. we fall back on our defense, which wins games, but we have to get production.
3) the sec is weak. I see 4 maybe 5 teams going dancing. Uk, uf, msu, and vandy are more than likely all dancing. We need teams like arkansas NOT to beat teams like michigan, especially since they hammered the same team we lost to. Basically, we need help. Also out of conference...the acc, big east, and big 12 all look really balanced. Balanced conferences steal more bids. No way anyone can argue, besides the pac 12 maybe, that the sec is close to the bottom of the power conferences.
I aint being negative but it seems like everytime we beat a decent team, we talk about dancing. I just wish we could win a couple on the road first before we talk about dancing.
