No one is packing TBA if you hadn't noticed.

The fact is when we matter and stop losing to the likes of UTEP and TA&M and start beating some good teams then people will stay.

No they won't. Same thing happened when Pearl was here. It happens everywhere. Happened at Rupp last weekend when it was a two-possession game in the final minute. People are fickle anymore. They are more interested in beating 15 people to their car than celebrating a win at the end.

+1. There are a number of "fans" that leave at a predetermined time, no matter the score or situation. People can do as they please, but I just don't get it. Why go through the time and effort then miss the end? Plus, I'm sure the kids would like to see some celebrating...especially after toughing out a back and forth game.

Why are we bashing them for leaving?? should be thanking them for even wanting to show up to watch an underachieving basketball team. I find it hard to watch it on TV.

I love the argument above: "got lucky against Kentucky."

That's great humor right there. Plus, I will give extra points for the level of sarcasm. Almost had me believing he was serious. But, then I realized only an idiot would make a statement like that and be serious about it.

If I go to a movie and its bad I leave.

If you go to a movie and it has high and low points that add to the excitement, do you walk out right after the final fight scene but 2 scenes before the credits roll?

Tennessee, North Carolina, Ohio State.

Why do you care what Tennessee basketball does? That's not even your favorite basketball team.

Our "fans" (short for fanatics) have been beating traffic for years. Even during pearl era. I know I started this same thread then. We have a few fanatics, but hell of a lot more casual viewers going to TBA and you can include Neyland as well.

This is true.

People are fed up and disinterested in our basketball program right now. We could have easily lost this game. The program just has no excitement. People are starting to realize Martin isn't a very good x and o's guy and this team isn't going anywhere. When we go on a run and start beating good teams and stop losing to crappy teams then maybe people will get excited...but I don't see that happening under Martin and I think a lot of people feel the same way.

AKA, fairweather.

Boy, you are missing the point. If you are fed up, then why go at all?

Not sure if I have ever done this. Maybe. But, if I paid, then I usually stay.

But, the defenders are saying that people leave because the product is "garbage." Yet, it was described as "garbage" after game one this season. That is like going to a movie that got terrible reviews and then confirming it for yourself and leaving early. Logical?

And yet you still watch them and cheer? Hmm seems like a personal problem.

In my days on the Hill, men's basketball games were basically a "study hall." That was the Wade Houston era.

I did not go to the game, but watched it on TV. I noticed a lot of empty seats behind the baskets as teams shot free throws.

I try not to watch something that will just end up pissing you off in the end. They aren't going to make the tournament this year and they are gonna be just as bad next year.

I was just going to make the same comment about last Saturday. Worst of all, they get in the way of those that do stay to watch.

I'm from Memphis. I'm from the town that practically invented cheering for different teams depending on the sport. I think it's pretty deplorable.

well I'm from NC, grew up in Nashville, and my family is from Ohio. I do believe I'm allowed to like the teams that I like without have my fan hood called into question. Growing up I never knew UT had a basketball team until Pearl got there.
