Big Orange Exodus

I think it's a little more complex, the issue of fans leaving early. First, it's a mid week game. Second, it's an 8 PM tip. Third, the opponent is not a rival, no marquee player, rightly or not, given Arky's road woes, most think the game should be over at half time.

Personally, if I had gone with my wife and child, I'd have left at half time of this one. The kid is in kindergarten and his usual bed time was the tip off time for this game. I live very close to campus, so best of both worlds and I'll miss none of the game because I've got it on the DVR.

Maybe some folks have a long ride home.

Almost everyone has work or school or something.

Let's face the facts. Television drives the start times, in football, television might have us playing on a Thursday for instance. There's a lot of average folks who settle for watching at home because it's been made very inconvenient, all for television.

I'm much more likely to stay for the whole game if tip is an hour earlier, but that's just my own circumstances.

Night games for baseball, for instance, start at 6 PM, with Saturday and Sunday games being in the afternoon. For folks with young ones, that's much more manageable.

No one is packing TBA if you hadn't noticed.

The fact is when we matter and stop losing to the likes of UTEP and TA&M and start beating some good teams then people will stay.

My guess is we will finish in the top 10 in attendance again this year, but go ahead and act like no one is going to the games.

Its hard to be a hardcore VOL in TBA...anytime you stand up and cheer your ass off, fans get mad and urge you to sit down and complain to ushers...so I haven't been in a while. Plus its not much of a home court advantage anymore i.m.o.

Says the guy that's probably almost 40 trying to win an argument over the internet, lol.

Hmm, from the post's I would say that crusse10 is not arguing but rather pointing out how ridiculous your statements are. In other words, you been slam dunked.

After almost 25 years of watching sports it's seems to me most people hang around when you beat teams that really matter or that you probably are not expected to beat. When you watch a talented team that plays kinda ...meh.....against avg teams it doesn't really inspire people to just sit and take it all in.

This. Maybe most that leave are tired of nodding off and the being startled awake when their elbow slips off their knee. lol

Sack up and ride it out, fellas. Try to have some fun along the way. No one will make fun of you, I promise. :hi:

Misery loves company. And we have a lot of miserable fans. Most of which has less to do with how this team has played, and more to do with their general perspective in life.

Whether it's basketball or football, win or lose, there's one constant.

Why watch the end of the game when you can beat traffic?

They need to show up in red and black and call themselves Voldawgs or KnoxAtlmetros. If it aint a blowout, we're leavin types. 'Gotta beat traffic and get to Jocks and Jills or call in to the ratty local radio station to vent. Maybe that's who they're trying to be like and emulate. The ATL sports suckdome experience.
