Biggest bust as a highly touted recruit.

The linebacker out of Jackson Central Merry, Daniel Brooks. He was a five star recruit. You had to send him to a frat party to get him to hit somebody.

Hurd, Bryce Brown, JG and McKenzie are all good candidates, IMO
Hurd wasn’t a bust at all. In fact Hurd would have broke the all time rushing record at UT if he don’t transfer.
Hurd is sixth in UT history with 2,638 rushing yards and also had 20 rushing touchdowns. He left the team during the middle of his junior season. He also caught 67 passes for 492 yards and six touchdowns.

Also Brandon Warren. Number one TE in the nation at FSU and evaporated to a nobody when he transferred here.

I know we’ve probably had bigger busts than him but when it comes up he’s always the first person that comes to mind. There’s never been a player that I personally was so confident would be an All-American and 1st round draft pick and basically came here and did nothing.

He wasn’t.
JG was a 5 star ?

You guys are right. I was thinking he was. I think the next potential answer would be Harrison Bailey then. I’m almost certain he was a 5 star and he’s really had a lot of trouble finding success anywhere he’s been.

Other guys that I think of are guys that were really good, but couldn’t stay off of the weed. Da’Rick, Banks, Coker, D Morley. Those guys were all Sunday talents .

Jonathan Kongbo and Kahlil McKenzie.

Also, who was that 5* linebacker that Pruitt signed that showed up like 30lbs overweight? He had grade issues right off the bat and wasn't cleared to play until the week of the opening game. I forgot his name but he played for Propst at Colquitt. He may be the worst.
