I know Ohio St. and Urban wanted JG so I was really excited when we beat them out for him and I thought he would be much better than he was it’s a shame it didn’t work out but he had plenty of chances to get it done at UT it seemed like he was here for a decade. Finished his college career at Washington St.You guys are right. I was thinking he was. I think the next potential answer would be Harrison Bailey then. I’m almost certain he was a 5 star and he’s really had a lot of trouble finding success anywhere he’s been.
Other guys that I think of are guys that were really good, but couldn’t stay off of the weed. Da’Rick, Banks, Coker, D Morley. Those guys were all Sunday talents .
He wasn't a "bust". Burton contracted some sort of rare disease that forced him to stop playing football. I think the context refers to players who didn't perform anywhere close to expectations. Burton never had the chance to play
That was JRM and other team leaders. He quit on his team. He got lit up and fumbled in the Georgia game because he lost focus and tried to showboat into the end zone. Then he refused to play in the A&M game and left at the end of the season. I don't care what the coach did or didn't promise him. He handled that situation about as terribly as you can. Plus wasn't he the catalyst who pushed for the firing of S&C coach Dave Lawson? Yeah, the impact of that was definitely felt the next season when we looked about as soft as marshmallows against Appy State. I'm not saying CBJ didn't do him wrong but the way Hurd handled it was bad. He SHOULD'VE been a beloved VFL, up there with Al Wilson, Manning, Eric Berry, etc but because of how he acted, he's all but forgotten about now. Truly a shame.
He not only put up respectable stats, but has played in the NFL lol.....and he was only ranked in the top 70...not like he was top 10 or something.JG all the way.
