So is it a game atmosphere or open gym? You've officially said both now by my count, and denied saying one.

I've said I think mcbee should hit 70% of his uncontested shots in games, as I've said that may only be one of those a game. It's not suggesting he should average 70% for a career, Infact I said 40-45% is what he should average. I'm simply saying the wide open uncontested looks should be nailed atleast 7/10 IMO.

I also said that in shoot arounds he hits about 90% and that I could hit 70% in an open gym shoot around.

Sorry for the confusion, does that clear it up?

If that's your final answer, then I will still say expecting anyone to consistently knock 90% of uncontested shots in even the most ideal environment, let alone a walk-on who had exactly one D1 offer to his name, some lofty expectations.

As clarification, I never insinuated that you expected McBee to hit 70% from 3 as his career average. I was referencing your belief that he should hit 70% of UNCONTESTED 3's is crazy over the course of a career in a game setting. I wasn't talking about his overall career average for all 3-point attempts, contested or uncontested.

Maybe, but as I've said I've seen multiple players including mcbee knock down 90% of 3's in shoot arounds in the gym. And I said knock down 70% of uncontested shots in games, which as I said may just be 1 a game. The 90% was in reference to shoot arounds in open gym, or just warm ups or practices, not games.

And although this is probably an impossible stat to prove...I'm gonna say guys who are 3 point shooters probably average 60-70% on uncontested 3's. However, they shoot say 30-35% on contested 3's. This average, when factoring in attempts, will get you a 40-45% average. That was my whole point. As I said earlier mcbee maybe say 21-30 on uncontested 3's and 30-90 on contested 3's. That's 120 attempts, about 4 a game, and a total average of around 43%, but an uncontested average of 70%.

All those stats are completely made up though based on your expectations. They are completely circumstancial based on sharing your opinion on the matter, and like you said, very difficult to prove. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

It is odd though that you claim to have seen McBee meet these stats in a shoot around environment, yet he continually fails to meet your expectations in games.

What is odd about that? Wouldn't that make sense that I've seen this kid make insane amounts of 3's in shoot around, yet be a brick layer come game time, and so I'm disappointed?

IMO that makes more sense than those that haven't seen him do this and expect it from him. I've actually seen him do this and so I expect it when he's on the court. I don't see how that's odd?

Odd that he is so much different in the two settings. Must really be a practice player.

Oh ok I see. Yea I guess...you could also look at the HUGE difference in home/away percentages for him as well. Most pure shooter don't suffer that much away from home iirc
