If you get hurt lifting a box at work and your company has agreed ahead of time to compensate you should you get injured on the job.... how is that not fair?

I agree that it would be disheartening to pay for services based upon past experience... only to have the employee injured on the job and unable to perform the duties. However, in the NFL, that is part of the business and the business models they use include paying players that are injured, cut, retired, etc. I think Jerry Jones is still paying for players from his Super Bowl teams.
If I were asked to lift a box at work, I would immediately declare my contract breached and leave.

Boo hoo, Home Depot man had to pay a few extra dollars. Serves them right for the ripoffs the percieve as deals. LOL

Anyway, I'm not sure Overstreet was an overachiever, but he did have heart while at UT.

A few that come to mind:

Chris White
Al Wilson
Craig Faulkner
Jeff Powell

Hands down with this group has to be Chris White. He began his career as a walk on. No major playing time till his senior year and then leads the nation in interceptions. Powell would be next. Let’s not forget Daryl Dickey, who rescued us in the 85/86 season. Another one who comes to my thoughts was And Kelly. He wasn’t rated all that high out of high school yet had a solid career at Tennessee. Bottom line no one has ever “OVER ACHIEVED” anymore than Chris White.

Tee martin overachieved imo. Following the great peyton manning no one really expected him to be all that in 98, and yet he led us to a NC. Even if he did kinda blow it in 99, 98 made up for it.

I don't know that I'd call Tee Martin an overachiever. He was highly touted out of high school and in the scheme of things was just a good QB, which is exactly what he was billed to be in the first place. You can't argue with the results he achieved though.

Didn't know that. I was just basing it on the fact that he had to follow after the greatest qb to ever put on a UT jersey and the pressure was on him bad. for that i thought he overachieved.

Two SEC titles trump one every time.

Owning almost every school passing record and changing the look on UT qb's trumps everything kelly did.

Typical West Coast logic- Individual accomplishments trump team championships. You can have all the pretty little records, I'll take the guys with the rings.

Andy Kelly was the man. If that pass in the '90 Notre Dame game had been an inch higher...

Andy Kelly bowl record 2-1
1989 92-of-156 for 1299 yards, 7 TDs, 9 ints
(11-1, 3-1 vs ranked, #5 both polls)
1990 179-of-304 for 2241 yards, 14 TDs, 14 ints
(9-2-2, 2-1-2 vs ranked, #7 Coach/#8 AP)
1991 228-of-361 for 2759 yards, 15 TDs, 15 ints
(9-3, 4-3 vs ranked, #15 Coach/#14 AP)

Kelly's favorite targets Alvin Harper, Carl Pickens, and Anthony Morgan went on to NFL fame. The Vols tied for the SEC Championship in 1989 but did not attend the Sugar Bowl. Due to Florida's probation in 1990, the Vols represented the SEC as Champions in that Sugar Bowl. Florida won the SEC in 1991 with a perfect league record.

Peyton Manning bowl record 3-1
1994 89-of-144 for 1141 yards, 11 TDs, 6 ints
(8-4, 3-3 vs ranked, #18 Coach/#22 AP)
1995 244-of-380 for 2954 yards, 22 TDs, 4 ints
(11-1, 2-1 vs ranked, #2 Coach/#3 AP)
1996 243-of-380 for 3287 yards, 20 TDs, 12 ints
(10-2, 2-1 vs ranked, #9 both polls)
1997 287-of-477 for 3819 yards, 36 TDs, 11 ints
(11-2, 3-2 vs ranked, #8 Coach/#7 AP)

Manning's favorite targets Joey Kent, Marcus Nash, and Jeremaine Copeland were all NFL busts. Florida won the SEC in 1994 with a 7-1 league record and win over Alabama in the SECCG. Florida won the SEC with perfect league records in 1995 and 1996 and wins in the SECCG. The Gators also played for the National Championship in 1995 and 1996, winning it in 1996. Tennessee beat Auburn in the SECCG for the 1997 SEC Championship and a spot in the Bowl Alliance National Championship Game. (on a side note: including Tennessee's BCS appearance in 1998, the SEC East Champion appeared in the National Championship Game 4 straight seasons from 1995-1998).

Both ended their careers with lopsided losses (identical score) in bowl games..... each's only bowl loss.

Kelly led the Vols to a thrilling 31-27 win over #10 Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl, another thrilling 23-22 win over unranked Virginia in the Sugar Bowl, and lost 17-42 to #6 Penn State in the Fiesta Bowl.

Manning led the Vols to blowout #17 Virginia Tech 45-23 in the Gator Bowl, a tough 20-14 win over #4 Ohio State in the Citrus Bowl, another blowout victory over Big 10 champ #11 Northwestern 48-28, and a loss in the Bowl Alliance National Championship Game to #2 Nebraska 17-42 (Orange Bowl).

Please describe what NFL fame Anthony Morgan achieved. If he achieved fame, David Martin and Cedric Wilson should begin polishing their induction speeches for Canton.
