Biggest Tearjerking Scenes in Television and Movies

1, 2 & 4 make me weep like a newborn baby.

Also I know a lot of folks would add in the scene where Bubba dies. It always gets me too, but it is weird how it makes me feel, because it's almost comical and devastating at the same time when Bubba says "Forrest why did this happen to me?" and then Forrest says in a weirdly comic way as the narrator "If I had a known this was the last time I was going to talk to Bubba, I would have thought of somethin better ta say" and then in person to Bubba all he says is "You got shot". At that point the emotion is all over the place till Bubba says "I wanna go home" as he dies in Forrests arms...That line kills me every time. It is brilliant writing along with Forrest continuing narraration "Bubba was my best good friend, he was going to be a shrimpin boat captain, but instead he died right there by that river in Vietnam, and that's all I got ta say about that"

That is a great scene, and I agree with your analysis.

Another great Tom Hanks scene. I chocked up watching this in the theater.

This one gets me more. I thought this was a great movie.

Wow..Tom Hanks is the king of the tearjerker. Even in animated films like TS3 or Polar Express.

I know it is funny in a way, but that scene in Castaway when Wilson floats away still gets me too.

Then as another poster mentioned "The Green Mile" had some real heartbreaking scenes also.

I think it's a testament to what a great actor Tom Hanks is. You actually sympathize with him because he's gone that crazy, that Wilson the volleyball is his best friend and he loses him.

Most of the final 20-30 minutes of Glory gets me, especially 2 parts: when they are marching past the the other soldiers they had previously argued with and Denzel Washington gives them a sideways glare and they yell "Give 'em hell 54!"; and when Shaw asks who will pick up the flag and Thomas steps up and says "I will" and Shaw replies "I'll see you at the fort Thomas".

Rereading a few of the early pages in this thread and i notice a lot of the billy bad asses in the politics forum are really just a bunch of softies. LOL.

A Monster Calls...

When the boy says out loud what he has been holding in the whole movie...it is a tearjerker. That was a rough scene nd the kid did a great job.

Glory is fan****ingtastic.

Always get chills watching the very last scene when Shaw's body is tossed into the mass grave with all of his men.

And the score is so damn good

Movie: Yogi Bear
I was extremely sad when Ranger Smith tells Yogi that his selfishness is damaging and wants him to be a ordinary bear.
It's understandable why after the disaster involving fireworks, add in constant frustration because Yogi steals food from Campers but still a somber scene which is great because it Is meant to be the lowest time for the movie.
