Biggie vs 2 Pac

WTF

I like Washington. Didn't mean to say I didn't. He brought Washington in with his second post for some reason.

If Lincoln had avoided war worst case scenario is we'd be 2 different countries. Slavery would be illegal in both nations and it would have happened soon thereafter. I don't know what's so great about being 1 country. It's cool, but not worth 650,000 lives, in my opinion.

I brought washington in because I would wager that probably anyone with a basic knowledge of history would argue Lincoln/George as the two best presidents in some order.

As for the manifest destiny thing, Jackson was where most historians say it started, war of 1812 and such. Yeah, he had the whole indian genocide on his plate, but if we argue that then we have to hold george in the same regard, if not more. And we REALLY have to blame the conquistadors who lucked out and wiped out most of the tribes in south america with sickness and the diseases that killed most north american tribes on the east coast right as the pilgrims came over, otherwise, no european colonization of the americans and no shoddy comparisons of presidents to rappers (though I have totally written a comparison essay of great rappers to basketball players circa 2009)

The Notorious B.I.G. and it isn't even that close.

This post is trying way too hard to start an argument.

Pac sold way more records and had more top 10 singles. I can see why you would prefer biggie, but this isn't going to turn into a thread where you act like a douche for a few pages.

Yes, but once you improve your knowledge of history you find out stuff that makes you question this.

Just google "Lincoln dictator" and you'll find a lot of documented history that they don't touch on in school (though I wouldn't endorse some of the sources). We get one point of view. Because he did one great thing we have trouble questioning the rest of it.

Sorry guys. No more politics.

Biggie died at 23. He made two studio albums. One went diamond (1 of 3 rap albums to ever do so). Per album, Biggie sold a lot more records.

2 Pac actually has 2 records certified diamond.

My mistake. Both of these albums went diamond within the last couple years. Life After Death has been Diamond for like 15 years.

A Greatest Hits album is not a 1:1 comparison for these purposes since my point is that for a small body of work, Biggie sold a lot more records.

2Pac's first album didn't even go platinum. Biggie's first album went quadruple platinum. His 2nd album went diamond. What would he have done had he lived long enough to release 5 albums like Pac?

One good thing about Tupac and Biggie being dead is that they will never know that a thread about who is the greatest between them digressed into a political thread about George Washington and James K Polk.

Oh, and Tupac. Not even close.

And why is it important biggie died at 23? Tupac was 25.

And also life after death was released very soon after his death. You don't think that helped significantly?

Don Killuminati ring any bells?

2 albums vs 5 albums. I guess age doesn't matter, but if 2 more years means 2 more albums...

Pac was a politician first. Then rapper/actor/activist/enterainer.

Big was merely a great rapper.

Pac in a landslide.

Landslide? No. Pac played an image. He couldn't make up his mind which coast he was from. He wasn't a "thug" in the slightest. Liked them both. Loved Biggie. Never spoke on anything that he didn't go through.

Rap went down the ****ter when rappers started making silly money, getting million dollar advances on record deals.

It went from a cultural art of storytelling to big business.

Great rap is still around, it just lies in the peripherals.

For the record, I agree with you on the Pac vs Biggie debate.

Pac made you feel what he felt, very few artist can do that, no matter the genre. It's what set him apart from everyone else.

In the end, they can all kiss the ring and the ring has been on his hand since '94 and "he" is Nas.

The ring belongs to the guy that just dropped an album last week

You brought up age as an argument when it's negligible.

I think you get my point. With just 2 albums Biggie's top 2 are better than 2Pac's top 2. I'd call LAD and AEOM a draw, and Ready to Die is better than anything else Pac did.

This post is stating opinion as fact.
Ready to die had 3 great songs. The rest was mediocre.
