Hmmmm. What a novel idea!I give Pruitt credit for this. Sometimes just listening can go a long way.
"Obviously right before the players came back we had a lot of circumstances that had happened throughout our country, that everybody was aware of," Pruitt said on Thursday. "We started really with just sitting down with our team and talking about it. Giving the floor to a lot of our players to share experiences, so that everybody within our program would have a better understanding.
"From a communication standpoint, in my lifetime, this is the first time I can ever remember, with all the things that are going on, not only from our country but from really our world, there is conversation on how to put measures in to create change.
I love Moose! Excellent point he makes. The funny party is all these guys that loved Pruitt and his Coaching Staff are now having to change their minds because they are afraid they are snowflakes! So hilarious to me.
I agree with the pain and anger in the black community that you see ,and we all see and have seen on TV for years . Unfortunately youve never seen a white man get killed on TV by the police . So understandingly you can't see the angrish of all the white families. See I think the police have been set up since 9-11 to be a police state ,so I am with the reform the police policies..Well, I don't need to see the data (which I would be willing to debate with you given that African Americans are in the minority) all I need to see is the pain and anguish of black people in this community. That is the point that is consistently lost on you and everyone that is responding negative to this thread. Clearly, the African-American Student Athletes at the University of Tennessee feel compelled to do something. It is not fake to them, their pain and outrage is not phony. It is real. You can see it when they marched. So why you can decry stats and fake news, you cannot or should not disregard true human emotions. Especially for people that you cheer on. If you know police brutality is an issue, support them for no other reason that you know it to be true. Let them feel your understanding and compassion. Life really can be that easy. Its called empathy.

I'm going to write an email in a few days to the AD with this info and we will see. I encourage anyone who feels similarly to do the same.Like many of you, I've heard the same thing BLM is a terrorist organization. But I was more interested in who profits from that. Is it truly the black community? I think Pruitt is referencing black initiatives, not the organization. But at any rate this is what I found.
1. go the the website, proceed as though you're going to make a donation I did a screen shot so you could see for yourselves.

2. You proceed to make that donation. Notice term (2), you are directed to "ActBlue" for the payment:

3. Now we need to know what the yearly expenditures are for them. Be mindful, legally this has to be reported. Here's where it gets good.

A “BLM type organization” does not necessarily mean BLM directly.I'm going to write an email in a few days to the AD with this info and we will see. I encourage anyone who feels similarly to do the same.
There's really no excuse for a public institution to raise money for a political activist group. Even if you don't think it is an extremist organization.
There are plenty of charities dedicated to specifically raising money for black Americans. To forgo those charities to give money for political activists is pretty shameful.
Late to the party. SIAP.
I love the black jerseys. I like the look and the feel of the team in them. I am not a traditionalist.
Two issues with this plan:
1. It should worn the week before against Arkansas even though it isn't a home game because we play on halloween. How many other teams have an orange and black option for a halloween game? Perfect match, imo.
2. Choose a better 'charity' to support. Best if politics stays as far away from sports as possible.
Be mindful, I did learn this in the process of documenting. There is a difference in "Black Lives Matter Charities, and BLM" You'll need to get clarification which they are doing. The Black lives Matter Charities have nothing to do with the "BLM" group.I'm going to write an email in a few days to the AD with this info and we will see. I encourage anyone who feels similarly to do the same.

uhhhh no I won't be doing that...and anyone else that supports that racist, police hating organization Black Lives Matter. Demand a refund on your tickets, do not donate to UT and contact any business that advertises with Tennessee football and tell them if they advertise with UT football you will boycott them. Call in on sports talk shows and demand they step down.

I'm sick and tired of people being accused of having no empathy. You cannot hope to fix a problem you can't even define with data and statistics.Well, I don't need to see the data (which I would be willing to debate with you given that African Americans are in the minority) all I need to see is the pain and anguish of black people in this community.
