Black jerseys to be auctioned (merged)

...and anyone else that supports that racist, police hating organization Black Lives Matter. Demand a refund on your tickets, do not donate to UT and contact any business that advertises with Tennessee football and tell them if they advertise with UT football you will boycott them. Call in on sports talk shows and demand they step down.

Show me Proof that UT is supporting Black Lives Matter, through either Deeds or Statements.

When a bad white cop killed a black man in custody, Pruitt joined his players in the protest.
When a black player was arrested and threatened the cops, Pruitt kicked him off the team.
Seems pretty balanced to me.
I'm not going to panic or make assumptions about where the money is going until we know more.

It's possible to believe in policing, but believe in police reform or at least his players' support of it. I understand the BLM organization may not be the best tool for that, but at this point I have no reason to question his motives are genuine.

I believe BLM is terrible and an honest conversation about it from men they respect would be beneficial.

Instead, we are in the mode of agreeing with just about any idea spoken by a young black person right now.

Maybe, maybe not. We're not exactly valuing honest opinions currently.
Ok then give Nieds gets the benefit of the doubt. No need to hate on coach when you have ZERO evidence otherwise. Just trolling then, aren't you? Smh

Be mindful, I did learn this in the process of documenting. There is a difference in "Black Lives Matter Charities, and BLM" You'll need to get clarification which they are doing. The Black lives Matter Charities have nothing to do with the "BLM" group.

Racists conflate. That's what they do.

I had no idea there was any connection. Unlike, say, the Seminole warchant, which is clearly derived from Native American typology, the Gator chant's association with this seems entirely coincidental.
I had no clue about people would use blacks as bait for gators.
I just don’t see it and I’m sure 99.9% of the Gator fans didn’t know that either.

I'm not willing to concede that the conversations Pruitt had with those kids were one-sided because I'm not privy to those conversations. When people say this is a PR stunt, I don't see how, because the UT fan base could certainly not be called liberal.

Relationship with the Seminole Tribe of Florida | Messages | University Communications

For almost 70 years, Florida State has worked closely, side by side, with the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The relationship, built on respect, is so mutually supportive that in 2005 the tribe — which rarely puts such things in writing — took an unprecedented, historic step with a public declaration of support. The Seminole Tribe invited the university president at that time, T.K. Wetherell, to Big Cypress Reservation to receive a written resolution from the Tribal Council affirming its enthusiastic support for the university's use of the Seminole name, logos and images. Subsequently, Chief Jerry Haney of the Seminole Tribe of Oklahoma also publicly stated his support.

I didn't say it was a problem. I just said there was an apparent and obvious connection.

The gator bait chant seems to me to have come from someplace else, entirely.

This post should automatically reply to every post in this thread.

Thank you, Sara.

Great, a transplant thread from the football forum. This should go well.
