Black jerseys to be auctioned (merged)

Oh lord yes it's time. Those poor youths can't get a proper education because of the flag of the state the university is in. Want someone think of the children.

😂😂What uder crap that whole spill from Sankey is ridiculous.

What a stupid arrogant po💩! Who the hell does he think he is to demand that a state change its State flag.

If I'm not mistaken not long ago it was put on the ballot and the citizens of Mississippi voted to keep it as is.
I will leave every other discussion of this unaddressed with the exception of one observation.

What specific “Championship events” are being planned in the great state of Mississippi ? Is Starkvegas with its vast food , lodging and entertainment options in the running to host the 2021 SEC Football championship game at the cowbell dome ? How about Oxford as a site for the upcoming Basketball tournament at the Tad pad?

Right, but if a significant portion of the fan base revolted and revenue to UT dropped as a result of this stunt, then he does need to appease fans because buts in seats are what pays his and others contracts

I'm sure this isn't something a lot of the mega-donors are excited to jump into with both feet either.

You've said the magic word, resentment. That what really concerns me about the pandering and virtue signaling. YES we have problems no doubt about it. But again how is all this pandering, virtue signaling, and cancelling is gonna address the root cause of the issues if at all?

I agree.

People think they can open the checkbook and fix a problem. It is quite ignorant.

The lottery winners with no money skills are great cases to look at. Behavior changes are needed, piling money on wont fix much and might make some things worse.

His choice. Personally, I think it's overblown and I think there's a lot of misinformation swirling which does nothing to help the rampant emotions.

I dont think selecting charities by race is overblown.

Racism is racism. Good intentions doesnt change it. Replacing a rebel flag with a BLM flag is not progress.

Its a very slippery slope. Honestly im on the edge right now because this is against everything ive said since the CK stuff. Politics dont belong in sports and this is just that being throw right in our faces.

If he wins, he'll never have to worry about any detrimental effects with UT fans.

I agree with the part about winning, but there are people in this thread saying they wont watch or attend games because of this. When it came time to fire dooley and butch the biggest economic argument was that nobody was going to show up for games.

If he wins, his relationship with UT is meaningless. He'll get paid, somewhere.

Probably too late to counter the derision.
@Sara Clark posted this in another thread:
Be mindful, I did learn this in the process of documenting. There is a difference in "Black Lives Matter Charities, and BLM" You'll need to get clarification which they are doing. The Black lives Matter Charities have nothing to do with the "BLM" group.

The Black Lives Matter Foundation, a charitable organization based in Santa Clarita, California, is not affiliated with the Black Lives Matter Global Network, the racial justice movement seeking to end police brutality. Their goals are actually quite different — the Black Lives Matter Foundation seeks to "bring the police and the community closer together," while the larger, more well-known movement has called for defunding police departments across the United States. But for donors and online giving platforms, including GoFundMe, who don't do their research, it can be tough to spot the differences.

That's seemingly how the foundation — which has one paid employee and lists a UPS store as its address — raised at least $4.35 million likely meant for the global network in a matter of weeks in June. The bulk of that money came from an online giving platform called Benevity that allows employers at places like Microsoft and Apple to match employee donations, but was frozen before it was disbursed after the distinction came to light.

There's nothing particularly scandalous about the 5-year-old Santa Clarita charity, which is in good standing with the Internal Revenue Service. Its founder, Ray Barnes, a 67-year-old music producer, says he has nothing to hide and is open about the different goals, although he hasn't done much in terms of achieving his goal (the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said it hasn't heard of Barnes or the organization) because he said he's still outlining a real action plan. Still, a Black Lives Matter spokesperson said the movement intended to contact Barnes, who is black, about "improperly using" the name, which isn't trademarked.

Many Black Lives Matter donations have reportedly gone to a similarly-named charity with a very different goal

Thank you.

You are entitled to that opinion. You initially said he was doing what he was told by making this statement. I just dont see this being a huge benefit for him based on the demographics of the UT fan base.

It’s not that he will benefit.

It’s self preservation.

He proved to be a danger to the public (driving drunk) and a danger to the officers (punching, slamming, stealing a taser and firing it). Suggesting that the officer should let a violent felon get away with a state issued weapon run away and theyll catch him later is asinine and incredibly reckless toward the safety of the public.
Well the problem with that like of thinking is that the Chief of Police (the officer’s boss) who fired him and the District Attorney disagree with your rationalization.

I'm not going to rehash everything I've said previously but the escalation of this event rests with the individual who resisted arrest, stole a "deadly weapon" according to Georgia law, and then stupidly fired it at the cops. Everything up until that moment was calm.
With all respect I will defer to the DA’s office on the criminal statutes in Georgia rather than an anonymous poster on Volnation. Wonder why he got fired?

I have yet to see a video of that. a still picture is crap given the DA consistently lied during his PC and unethically presented slanted information prior to grand jury review, i have to see the kick on video to believe it. Furthermore, shooting three times at a violent felon while hes shooting a taser is within the GA law and every states law.
Well I wonder why he is being prosecuted and got fired? Maybe you are just wrong.
