Black jerseys to be auctioned (merged)

If BLM isn't a terrorist organization then neither is the KKK, which I believe is a terrorist organization. Only difference is the KKK pushes white supremacy and BLM pushes black supremacy.
I guess I should have worded things differently. I don't think all of the BLM people are bad. I think a great deal of them are mislead about what the organization is trying to accomplish. I wouldn't say the same thing about KKK. I would say that it's accurate to label a portion of the BLM people as terrorist, I do think that some of them promote violence and looting, and I have one hundred percent belive that they should be shot when engaging in violent acts. Overall I wish we'd quit with identity politics and treat everyone as an individual.

I love the idea of listening to the players input, the black jerseys going to local charities that are on the ground to actually make improvement in youthful lives. Culture comittee though? ugh, sounds like something from the glorious communist paradise of Volistan. I dont know what "culture" they are inculcating but the only one I care about is Orange. It is a concern it is just another function to cow any other student players into the same group think. If that group think is the qualities Tee, Pruitt, et al consider necessary to be a responsible young man, I am all for it. If just reinforcement of the SJW echo chamber, I would not be a supporter. I would sincerely hope that not to be the case considering I dont see any of that in either Pruitt or Tee.
I think that Pruitt and Tee will do things right and lead them in a good direction.

Still politics involved. My stance from the start going back to the CK stuff and beyond, politics dont belong in sports. If they want to use their name off the field to feed their politics whatever, but not when you have a captive audience who isn't there for that. I know I and many others love sports and use them to get away from everyday life, so bringing politics into stadiums on game days takes that away.
I don’t enjoy mixing sports and politics either. I was just pointing that that Pruitt and staff are taking advantage of the situation and he’s never not seeing the angle that could help us recruit.

I believe so and hope so too as well. But when this news first broke, it was like the occasional wounded duck that JG will throw up: after it was gone they realized it needed a little more spin.
That is probably true. I don't think that they thought it through enough at first but they mean well

A group that focuses on one race. Short sighted approach.
I also don't appreciate the insinuation that white people somehow don't think their lives have value. I'm not saying racism doesn't exist but the overwhelming majority of Americans aren't racists. Collective Guilt is a terrible thing and it has no boundaries

Last year the Volunteer community rallied around a boy in florida that was being bullied for being a VOL fan. They raised money for an anti-bullying program (STOMPout bullying) and gave the boy a future scholarship. I think the University will do the right thing with the proceeds again this time.

I know last year's cause and this year is not on the same level but Vol fans have always been willing to help others, for the right reasons. It's really up to the individual, if they support the cause this time or not.

It is just so short sighted as I said.

You are either for fixing problems for everyone, or you are part of the problem.

In respect to bad policing, it affects impoverished people, not just blacks. It just happens blacks make up a large number of the impoverished in urban areas.

No one likes giving up power, so whether things improve or get worse for blacks will be irrelevant, this group will continue to demand to be fed.

I just prefer that our state university not donate to any political group regardless of the cause . There are plenty of very good charities out there that aren’t embroiled in politics . I don’t want to see them get caught in a position where they are tied to a political organization if something were to go sideways with it’s members . If there is problems finding a good charity that all can agree on , just give the money to St. Jude and help save a life .

I think we've reached a point where most people really don't want to be racist, but there is just latent racism that takes generations to eliminate. 60 years ago, otherwise good people wouldn't even eat in the same restaurant or go to church with black people. Social norms take time to change.

With what’s going on currently, i think more racists are being created than converted.

Don't a lot of groups do that? Every race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, etc? They all focus on their own race, gender, nationality, or sexual orientation rather than every single one.

The "you're with us or against us" belief is the hallmark of a tolerant, all inclusive and rational ideal.

I dont belong to any group that promotes working on my behalf purely on my sex or race. I belong to the USTA, my church, etc. Maybe you can catch me in one.

We live in a multiracial country, I dont think it is healthy long term to support groups that hold race as their basis for their actions. Seems unhealthy.
