Black jerseys to be auctioned (merged)

I'm sure y'all are already on this but I read that we are now giving the money to local charities and not BLM. I'm fully on board with this decision and will honestly consider buying the Jersey if we play well in them and win

It's fine to question the support of the Black Lives Matter organization, but it's already been clarified that the money isn't going to that organization. I just fail to see why people are so upset about something as harmless as auctioning game-worn jerseys. How is this any different than when people/organizations were doing something similar for COVID-19 relief funds? It's a completely voluntary donation.
Unfortunately him and allvol123456789 keep ignoring this and continue to spout off about BLM. Pathetic and ignorant. Reading is fundamental.

I think this is a great decision. I hope they look sharp and I hope they give the players more motivation. Also the money will hopefully help give a chance to kids who need help. Very happy with this change

A lot of jumping to conclusions on this thread.

Everyone needs to listen to Tee’s interview on the Swain event this morning.

Jumping to conclusions? Until the Tee Martin clarification today, all we had to go by is what the head football coach said which was they were raising money to be donated to black lives matter. No jumping to conclusions there, it's pretty clear. Glad Tee cleaned up Pruitt's pandering influenced gaff and they are not donating to the terrorist organization known as Black Lives Matter.

IMO it's less walking back and more clarifying Pruitt's initial statement. His statement, btw, should have been thought out better.

I havent made my mind up. Whether Pruitt misspoke or spoke accurately according to what they talked about previously.

Guess it doesnt matter, it was gonna get walked back as @Rickyvol77 just noted.

I agree with most of what you said. Though I think Pruitt wasn't completely trying to pander. He could have been mislead about BLM. I don't think they are a terrorist organization either, I do think they ( some of them) are pretty terrible and have some post modernist Marxist tendencies that should be condemned though. All in all I'm delighted with Tee's clarification, this is good for everyone

If BLM isn't a terrorist organization then neither is the KKK, which I believe is a terrorist organization. Only difference is the KKK pushes white supremacy and BLM pushes black supremacy.

So true. I'm amazed at the amount of people that will support certain forms of racism.

It is disgusting, no matter the direction from which it flows or how it is disguised.

Im still on the fence about it, if the money raised actually does go to local charities cool, but in the end this whole thing is still politically motivated which doesnt sit right with me.
This isn’t only politically motivated though. We still play football. Look at every single surrounding state right now. Almost every single flagship school engaged in some sort of race base issue. Whether it be a song, cheer, flag, a coaches tweet almost all of our bordering states and South Carolina’s highest profile & flagship schools have been in the news for fixing “mistakes”. We’ve been in the news for giving money to local minority charities, being proactive. Recruits see this, parents see this. Players talk to recruit, etc etc....CJP knows exactly what the hell he’s doing minus that misunderstanding yesterday.

I love the idea of listening to the players input, the black jerseys going to local charities that are on the ground to actually make improvement in youthful lives. Culture comittee though? ugh, sounds like something from the glorious communist paradise of Volistan. I dont know what "culture" they are inculcating but the only one I care about is Orange. It is a concern it is just another function to cow any other student players into the same group think. If that group think is the qualities Tee, Pruitt, et al consider necessary to be a responsible young man, I am all for it. If just reinforcement of the SJW echo chamber, I would not be a supporter. I would sincerely hope that not to be the case considering I dont see any of that in either Pruitt or Tee.

Still politics involved. My stance from the start going back to the CK stuff and beyond, politics dont belong in sports. If they want to use their name off the field to feed their politics whatever, but not when you have a captive audience who isn't there for that. I know I and many others love sports and use them to get away from everyday life, so bringing politics into stadiums on game days takes that away.
