Bo Davis (Bama) to leave his position due to allegation of recruiting violations

Yes, Alabama got caught. Spin it however you like but the bottom line is the university is ultimately responsible.
They have to make it about an individual coach if that institution is caught it's the death penalty in play for Bama. That's why we're hearing it parsed in this manner.

Multiple impermissible contacts with out of state recruits. Bo Davis supposedly visited them during a dead period and then lied about it when questioned (you know, the unwavering attention to compliance our Bama fans speak of). It's been said that none of the recruits signed with Alabama. I wouldn't be surprised if Kongbo was one of them. I sure hope so and I sincerely hope we turned them in! The Alabama 247 guys are comparing it to the Joker Phillips' situation at Florida as a way to reassure their fans that no punishment will be applied to the program. No discussion of accountability has been made other than to throw Davis under the bus.

Thank you sir.

Your head coach recently made the comment he has aged 15 years in the last three. By the time this summer is over, the land of orange may all feel those dog years coming on.

Feel and actual is different. You need to focus on the cheating right now.

If the above is true wouldn't this be more of a comparison to what happened to us and Bruce Pearl? It wasn't the initial violation that was so bad, but the fact that he lied about it which lead to the penalties.

Fwiw, Bo Davis was recruiting Kongbo and visited him on December 8th. It would be really cool to have had a hand in this. :)

...but we will probably never know for sure.

Same ****ing thing. If you catch a coach, you caught the university. You are truly a dumbass.

Be like saying that ole miss isnt in trouble because not all their coaches cheated. Or UNC should be good considering not all their coaches changed grades. Or OJ shouldn't be on trial only his right hand for stabbing the two victims. I mean how's OJ supposed to know what righty was going to do with that knife?

Unwavering commitment my ass. He got caught and Sabes is trying to save face before he gets in big trouble.

You lost all credibility with your sn and when you offer advice on bama. Obviously you are as unbiased as a southern baptist in a gay marriage debate.

He was out of state, likely on the University's dime, so it was official recruiting business. Absolutely no way Saban and the program were unaware of his whereabouts and reason for said whereabouts. Therefore, UofA is complicit as program.

If Bo took a vacation and recruited while on his own dime then he's a better employee than I'll ever be. I find that scenario HIGHLY unlikely. The Bama twist is comical.

Of course it's long. There are over 130 Walmart stores in Alabama to cover.

Beat me to it.

I'll be a resident of the land of Updykes in the not so distant future. Hoping I can help raise median income and IQ levels of the state while simultaneously lowering the median level of obesity and starting a new family tree so they can stop adding branches to the same one.

He was on an official trip to meet with high school coaches. It's not like he filed an expense report that detailed meeting with prospects during the dead period.

Based on the residual effects you're leaving behind in your motherland, I would keep expectations as low as possible, Columbus.

The rumor circulating now is that it was the mother of a recruit who called the NCAA committee on infractions to report the visit that was during a dead period. We can only hope it was Mrs. Kongbo, right? (with an assist from Butch). Just doin' what we can to keep the SEC clean, ya' know? :dance2:

...more likely Derrick Brown's mom, though.

If it was Kongbo, then Texas has more to worry about than Bama, given that Davis was in Austin during Kongbo's high school days.

These aren't being reported as bump violations is the point. He blatantly met with prospects during a restricted period. Bump violations in and of themselves don't result in resignations.

I guess Bo is just some rogue assistant who unprovinkingly puts his job, his boss and his employer on the line. A coach from Bama was caught "cheating", therefore Bama was caught cheating.

In the same way that Joker Phillips and Bruce Pearl were caught cheating, and thus their respective institutions were caught cheating. The hammer falls on the coach in these instances.

No one is saying sanctions will fall on Bama, of course Davis will take the brunt of it. It still reflects on the school, hence why every one of your examples was relieved of their duties.
