Boardwalk Empire

Margaret is the villain. She's a horrible person with a very nice facade. She uses Nuckey for his money, then F's around on him, then threatens to turn on him, but changes her mind only because he's good for her children? She's extremely selfish. She's also cold and unsympathetic towards the staff. She's just a b****.

I wish they didn't do Jimmy. They didn't have to. Jimmy was the show's dark, complicated anti-hero....he was Boardwalk's Omar Little....and they killed him in season 2. Pretty crazy. And Eli has got to go.

Chalky will always be Omar to me.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a scene next season where Nucky starts to lay hands on Margaret and the Irish bodyguard physically intervenes. That would add some interesting tension.

Well said baker.

I can't believe they killed off the second lead of this series so soon. Plus, Jimmy was my favorite character because he had so many layers that the writers were starting to reveal. And he was a bad ***. There was so much more to his story, IMO.

It will be interesting to see where this show goes from here but I'm confident that it will remain a quality hour of programming.

I agree it sucks they killed Jimmy but what do you suggest they did with him that would have been logical? He tried to have Nucky killed and wanted to take over Atlantic City.

Blood is thicker than water.

Except for Nucky basically raised Jimmy. I'd take my adopted kid over my brother. Especially if my brother is a grown man who I think is kind of a prick, and the other is a confused young man.

I think when Nucky said "I am not seeking forgiveness", he had his mind made up way in advance he was going to kill Jimmy.

I think I'm more angry about Eli being alive than I am Jimmy being dead. I'll miss Jimmy, but I also like that nobody is safe. The writers have set the precedent, and they'll kill anybody if they'll kill Jimmy. Pretty cool.

I agree with this. Never much cared for Eli.

Just caught up. Didn't see the Jimmy killing but saw the land to the church a mile a way. Maybe it helps to watch 3 episodes in a row.

Jimmy knew it was coming if you watch it again.

Plenty of story left. Interesting that Nucky called Rothstein for permission to kill the butcher guy but had no intentions to do so. Wondering if it was a set up between Rothstein and Nucky to eff with Luciano and Capone.

Loved the ending, but after reading this thread, I decided to check out "The Wire." I tried to watch it a few years ago, but couldn't get into it. I'm on episode 10 of season 1 right now.....Omar's the man!

I have the whole DVD set of The Wire, and whenever I lend it to a friend I always warn them that it's kind of boring through the first 5 episodes.

greatest show ever

even season two is good (the season everyone thinks is boring)

Season 2 is amazing. Not enough gang-banging for the masses.

lol i agree

i thought it was really good

but let's be honest , nothing beats Omar putting a shotty in someones face or Snoop & Chris putting bodies in vacant buildings.

That stuff is awesome, but I love the political themes just as much. The inevitably failing public schools, Hamsterdam, corrupt union of stevedores, etc. I love it all.

Was reading up on some of the new stuff that's supposed to happen next season. Looks like they're gonna incorporate a lot more Al Capone

Another tease.
