Boardwalk Empire

Anyone else watch this last night?

Nucky is full blown hard core gangster.

That new Gyp character is crazy.

I'm interested to see how Richard goes forward, as well as Van Alden. Van Alden is definitely about to turn to the dark side.

Who is the new Gyp - Rosetti?

wasn't expecting the deal with the Polish butcher dude.

If and when Van Alden turns he will be a stone cold gangster.

Yeah, Rosetti. That dude is totally psycho.

The butcher caught me off guard too, but in retrospect I should have suspected something when I saw the actor in a commercial for the new "Mob Doctor" show.

This is going to be an amazing season. I have feeling Gyp Rosetti and Owen Slater are going to have a run in or two.

Yes nucky is a different character now. Way more gangster.

I can't wait to see how this unfolds

Yeah, was Manny a one-time hit cause he killed Angela, or is he going after all of Jimmy's enemies?

Interesting to see Van Alden wind up with Dion O'Banion, so we all know where that is heading. It'll be interesting how they play things out combining the fictional characters storylines with the real world events involving Capone, Rothstein, Torrio, O'Banion et al

I had not considered Richard acting as a free agent on Manny(?) - makes sense given his feelings for Jimmy's wife.

OTOH - since Nucky is consolidating his business to Rothstein I could see why he wouldn't want another dude in the production business who may seek to distribute elsewhere.

Did we get any indication that Richard/Nucky know Manny killed Jimmy's wife? I didn't think that was ordered by Nucky - thought it was revenge for being stiffed.

No, we never did get any hint that Richard would know who killed her if I am not mistaken.

But he obviously found out, or put it together.

I assumed that he was acting as a free agent because of Jimmy's wife.

After Jimmy's wife got killed so soon after the failed attempt on Manny's life, I assumed they figured out he was the killer.

Didn't Nucky lure Jimmy out to kill him by pretending to set Manny up for Jimmy to take him out?

Nucky knew. Manny told him when they first met. I don't know about Richard. But I would say Mickey Doyle told Jimmy. Mickey knew it was Manny.

Just got into this show and I'm almost finished with the first season. Great show.

That Van Alden character is just plain bizarre.
