Everyone is allowed a few bad games now and then. He's still a very good coach, plus after the game he made an extra effort to spend time talking to the winning coach instead of just a handshake and a walk off.as i have stated before, bob stoops is a respectable coach. he is not a great coach. his oklahoma teams often make it to a bcs game but seldom win. if he coaches in a more competitive conference, such as the sec, no way is he winning the conference championships that he wins in the big 12. all he has to do now is beat mack brown and he's there. carroll, saban, cutcliffe, peterson, and now add a coachless west virginia team to the list of whippings that he has received of late in bowl games. put him in the sec and he's a young thinner cpf.
they do distribute it in the conference, but the amount remains unchanged. stoops isn't a poor coach because he's given his fans little reason to cheer about BCS games. He's been in them. We'd gladly take the appearances and deal with the diminished bragging rights.Isn't that money split up among the conference? Also, fans don't sit around bragging about how much money the football team brought in. They brag about wins.

Stoops is clearly one of the top coaches in the nation. The last two seasons have been difficult at best from a personnel front and he still steered his way into the BCS.
I missed all of therealUT's responses after this post. somehow the scheduling thing must have destroyed his argument that Stoops is scheduling patsies.
Time would be better spent arguing UGA's OOC schedule is weak.
bob stoops is a good coach.
bob stoops is still overrated.
Sneezy, sleepy, grumpy, donder, blitzen, rudolph, curly, larry, moe, jerry, elaine & kramer....Without a context, "overrated" is a fairly meaningless word. Overrated compared to whom?
There are 119 I-A programs. If 10 percent of them have a better coach than Stoops, then that would drop him under the 90th percentile, and I think most would agree that he would therefore be overrated. Are there 12 better college coaches? If so, who?
