Boise Played a flawed game, they made many mistakes..BUT STILL WON...

Boise State is good.

I'm sure there's a chance they could stay on the field with any team in the country.

But they play in the WAC, they simply do not deserve a shot at the BCS title game.

True but I am hoping they go undefeated and still get snubbed for a NC spot. I hate the BCS. We need a playoff. Maybe 2 one loss teams getting in over them will piss enough people off we can get this BCS crap changed

Unfortunately the system has nothing to do with emotion and hurt feelings but more about money.

and now they have a grueling stretch vs a majority of teams that SEC schools get criticized for scheduling as non-conf opponents.

How will they ever be able to hold up?

New MX St
La Tech
Hawaii
Idaho
Fresno State
Nevada
Utah State

3 game season (Va Tech, OR St, Bowl game)

The worst thing for the BCS if for Boise to win the national title. That will make one have to think about all the times a non BCS school was snubbed.

Major conference honks nation-wide would crap bricks if Boise won the national title.

However, little chance they make it there, less of them winning it. IMO Bama and Ohio State would crush them.

Yeah but what's sad is they don't understand how much more money they could bring in with a 8 team playoff. Keep the bowls for the teams that missed the playoffs, start a bidding war on corporate america for the rights to sponser,advertise etc.. the 7 playoff games and BAM... $$$$ and a true champion

Supposed numbers and what it could POTENTIALLY make is one thing. They are swimming in money in the system that is in place. Im not advocating it, just saying that unless ESPN has cut a check for a new playoff system nothing is changing soon.

Too many things would have to fall in place for an 8 team playoff to be instituted.

I'd like to see one, because under the current system, there are 52 teams in D-IA that would never get the chance to be crowned national champs no matter how many games they ever win.

But I'd really like to see a plus-one. I can't recall seeing a team finishing the regular season ranked 6th or 7th or 8th that I thought deserved a shot at the title.

Yea I get it believe me. If you are EVER unsure about why something is the way it is $$$$ is usually the answer. It's just BS. Fans want it and If the presidents are going to make Millions, pay the AD's and coaches millions, and crucify players for taking $100 bucks for their hard work. The very least they could do is let them determine the best team on the field and not on the opinions of coaches assistance, and writers.

you guys are funny...Boise wins AGAIN and all most of you can do is rag them..yet Tennessee almost loses...UAB? and you can find some positives.
a lot of you on here are so much UT homers...I'm almost embarrassed to call myself a fan.
I love the Vols but you guys need to wake up..we haven't been relevant in 10 years..and you guys think we will be the BCS champs every year.
yeah.. I do wish Boise would play better teams..like Duke or North Carolina or Tennessee...but What does Boise gain by playing them?

I think plus 1 is a solid idea.

I'm not crazy about an 8 game playoff, but it would be better than what we have.

I don't see what being homers has anything to do with Boise's relevance in the national championship spotlight. Trust me, i feel for ya, you have a wonderful team in a inferior conference. I just don't know what you expect though,it is what it is and you take away those two wins against decent opponents and you have games most BCS teams schedule for homecoming games.It's like the Cowboys playing 14 of their games against CFL teams and expecting a top seed in the playoffs. A stupid reach but valid.

The Vols fans I know that bleed orange wouldn't dare to cheer for another college football team that was as relevant as Boise State. You want to cheer for a sunbelt type team on the side that is not a threat to the vols in wins, recruting etc... thats fine. But Boise is now a powerhouse and you should feel ashamed for calling yourself a VOL....

Vols fans live,eat, and breath it and we don't support top 25 programs on the side. I hope for your sake we don't play boise, as I would hate for you to have to choose:crazy:

Nobody is saying Boise is a bad team. Nobody's dogging the team. Boise is a very good football team. They're dogging the schedule. VT collapsed immediately, the loss to James Madison immediately invalidated that as a quality win, not to mention their ACC competition is garbage. Oregon State will probably finish in the top half of the Pac-10 and borderline ranked, and Nevada may win 10 or 11 games this year, but the schedule is pure garbage after that. Posting an undefeated record in the WAC isn't and never will be on the same level as posting an undefeated or even one loss record in the Big Ten, Pac-10 or SEC.

I want Boise (and every team in D-IA) to have an honest shot at the national title, but under the current system they won't get it.

Give Vandy a call and see if they want to sit out a year and give it a shot. Im all for seeing BSU showcasing themselves in the national spotlight.
