BOISE WINS...again

Glad you know so much about what goes on up there.
you a mind reader now?

It isn't hard to see that they benefit from this. Even you said that they don't need to play elite teams if they can be ranked #2 without doing so. By making the demands that they ask of other schools, it ensures that they win the political game by giving the appearance that they will play anyone at any place. They just leave out the asterisk that that claim is only true if the other schools agree to a deal that only truly benefits Boise.

Every BCS analyst I've heard to date has said plainly that their strength of schedule is only going to continue to force them down the rankings.

I want schools like Boise to get a fair shake at a national championship through a playoff, but under the current system (barring a catastrophic collapse on all of about a dozen teams), they are never going to be viewed as one of the best two in the country, and rightly so.

It is very possible for them to fall, it is even likely. But this method is probably their best shot at ever reaching a title game. I don't see them ever reaching a title game with a really tough schedule. The talent just doesn't match up to do it every week unless recruiting picks up. That is also my opinion of a playoff system involving a team like that.

However, it is going to be a tough case to make to keep them out this year since they were rated so highly to start the season and the teams ahead of them are losing. Ohio State and Alabama already have a loss and Alabama fell an unusually large number of spots for a #1 team taking its first loss. Boise should really hope for an Oregon loss along with some more chaos though, I agree.

Boise is not going to finish number one as long as any team from the Pac-10, Big XII, Big Ten or SEC stays undefeated.

Off topic.

What if Sparty runs the table and someone like Bama wins out. Does State have enough to finish ahead of Bama.

I dunno. If State played tOSU it'd be an easy call, but as it is their resume is still a bit thin outside of the Wisconsin win.

I'd say they stay ahead unless Bama wins out and takes care of business in a revenge game against USCjr in the SEC CG. If they win out then end up plastering Kentucky in the SEC CG or something then I'd say no.

I think they do. A 12-0 Michigan State team would be pretty hard to put behind Alabama, especially considering how well Michigan State has handled some good teams.
