Since it's highly unlikely that Boise State will ever get a major conference invite due to relatively low overall academic quality (in comparison to most Pac-10, Big Ten and Big XII institutions) I'd ultimately like to see them go independent so they can make their own schedule.

Though if Utah and BYU weren't leaving the MWC with Boise and Nevada coming in, there's no way that group should be left without an auto bid; they'd be clearly superior to the Big East and ACC.

Completely agree about the plus 1. I don't know if I'd prefer an 8 team playoff or not. Whatever it is, i just hope they don't make a tournament with auto-bids. The 16 team playoff with 12 auto-bids and 4 at large teams seems to be a very popular idea, but I really think that would diminish the regular season.

Boise is a good team no doubt, if they played in a FBS caliber conference then we would see their true colors.

I mean come on, we are talking in week 4 about their toughest game being Nevada in Reno. hahaha.

For people ragging Boise for being in the WAC, remember we just won a game in double overtime against a team in the freaking conference USA.

Tennessee being irrelevant has about as much to do with Boise State as a Charleston bench has with a purple crayon. Boise State plays a weak weak weak schedule. Getting defensive and making fun of a terrible Tennessee team only makes the Boise Butthurt look even more pathetic.

If you want to have a legit shot at a BCS Title, in the current format, push Boise State to join a major conference or go independent like another poster suggested and stop whining or hop on a different team's bandwagon.

what does that have to do with the OP's implied Boise greatness gibberish? They beat a sorry VT squad and an overranked and overrated Oregon State squad.

I think Boise is a legit Top 10......MAYBE top 5 team.

If Ohio State or Bama stumbles, I do not think they are one of the top 2 teams.

I actually hope boise makes it just to end all of this ridiculousness.

I hate Alabama with a passion but I would love Boise to run into bama with a title on the line.

I would root for Boise against Bama but I just couldn't see them winning with the title on the line.

What do you mean by always? They choked against Florida in the national championship game. Other than that, the losses they had were against better teams.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't State ranked 1 when they played Miami? I thought they were better that year.

Miami was #1 and had a ridiculous team. I think Miami had something like 4 1st Rounders to the draft that year and 5 or 6 the next year.

Miami was crippled by terrible coaching.
