Bonaroo 2011

I'll go:
1. Arcade Fire, Robyn, Deerhunter, Neon Trees, STS9 (not necessarily in that order)
2. Eminem, Black Keys, Florence and the machine
3. STS9 (by a mile...this was probably my favorite overall set)
4. Florence, Deerhunter, Amos Lee, Mavis Staples
5. Sleigh Bells, Decemberists

By the way, does this mean the electronic lineup was better than you thought it would be? Told you STS9 was underrated...:)

I can't compare to last year, but it seemed like every late night show I went to was incredible and the ones I missed got rave reviews as well. I was happy Pretty Lights stayed so late.

******* tell me about it! I was PISSED Mumford & Sons got placed at Which Stage.

I hate Which Stage too. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I only go to Which Stage if there is a band playing that I've been really wanting to see. And even then, sometimes I'll just go for half (this is what I did for Ray Lamontagne and also Alison Krauss).

I still think the festival benefits from a late night techno tent like they had last year (I think it was called the lunar stage...it bumped till like 7am...I'm not sure why they got rid of it). But, yes, STS9 was absolutely amazingly ridiculously epically mindblowing. They earned my money, man. I got on Amazon and downloaded peaceblaster as soon as I got back.

Yeah, I heard that "Lunar Stage" name and had been wondering about that. That does sound amazing. Good luck getting much sleep during the day though...

1. 5 favorite sets?
2. Honorable mention sets
3. Favorite set by an act you were previously unfamiliar with?
4. Other acts that you heard for the first time and liked
5. Most disappointing set(s)?

The best thing about Arcade Fire winning the Grammy wasn't the fact that I kind of felt like "holy ****, a band I'm a big fan of actually won a Grammy", it was Eminem fans getting so irate over it.

Why? His last album sucked.

I hate Kanye as a human being, and I think he is pretty terrible rapper. But he is untouchable as a producer, and his latest album is virtuoso.

Best production on a rap album ever. He's decent as a rapper.

by friday afternoon, i don't.

Interesting point. But I will say that the Roo ladies this year were looking better than ever.

Or could it be that [perceived attractiveness of 18* year old females] increases in direct proportion to the magnitude of [current age - 18]? In other words, I keep getting older; they stay the same age; and yet they look hotter every year.

I guess I'm okay with that.

*I feel like the majority -- or at least a plurality -- of the Roo crowd are college students, so it's more like 18-22.
