I'm not really into EDM, but I really regretted missing this show in 2011

Yup. I went to Ratatat and was worried I'd miss Pretty Lights, since they were both scheduled for 1-2:30/1:30-3 (AM). Got out of the Ratatat show only to find that PL was still going, he gave a shout-out to Ratatat and stayed until like 5AM.

Since Sir Paul is confirmed I'm officially going to try and make it. Doesn't hurt that Tom Petty and Weird Al are playing.

For some of you who have been a few times, would you mind sharing your experience relative to safety and theft? Is there any violence on the grounds (I guess more late night), and will items get stolen from your tent?

I've never had anything stolen. Also, Bonnaroo is the friendliest 85,000 you'll ever find. I've yet to see a fight and I've been to 8 Roos.

I've never witnessed any violence, but I'm sure it happens. It's definitely not common, though.

As far as valuables, you camp right behind your car, so you lock all your goodies in your car. I've never had anything stolen.

Definitely not SDV. All kinds of people go. It's mostly college kids, but I see people of all ages. Hell even saw a church bus full of Jesus lovin' hippies last year. Must have been a mission trip.

Nah SD...I live near it. In fact, back in the day, what is now the Bonnaroo farm was my # 1 parking spot. It is mostly under 30's crowd...but there are enough old freaks in the mix that you will blend right in.

How much do tickets cost? Do you have to go all weekend or can you do single days? I really have no idea

General Admission...the cheapest...it is a four day pass for about $260 or some such. The locals all sign up to work a concession stand. For 8 hours work, you get to spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

There is an option to drive in each day. Some people do that and stay in a hotel. I suppose you could do that and just come for one day, and you may even get your money's worth in one night, IMO.

But you have to buy the full weekend. It's Thursday through Sunday. If you go the whole weekend... definitely build in a recovery day on Monday. Don't try to go back to work Monday morning and expect to be fully alive.

I don't think I could last 4 days. I'd have to take off a week after

twss

Thursday and Sunday are pretty skippable, usually. If you could do Friday and Saturday, you'd be set. Most people don't even show up Thursday, and spend most of Sunday packing up their stuff.

I only saw 2 shows Thurs and 2 shows Sunday.

Also, when I went, Thursday was almost exclusively electronic music. It was fun, but since everything starts late, they schedule most of the electronic guys Thursday, and the party rages on til 6am.

I mostly want to see Paul and Mumford. They'll probably be Saturday?

They will def be Saturday. My guess is back to back on the main stage.

Tom Petty will probably headline Friday if I had to guess.
