Boo Carter Penalty?

Ok so I been on here for a few years now and always wondered what the running joke is about Rod Wilks and The Legend Paul Bain lol? Everytime I see them mentioned I always wonder, so if you or anyone else could fill me in I'd greatly appreciate it. Don't leave your fellow Vol fan out of the know please. Thank you
To tell the full story behind Wilks would take more time than I'm willing to put in. He is sort of a cult thing on VN. Blown up beyond superhero dimensions, the basis of some of the greatest football jokes ever told. Paul Bain, though a better actual player, was a replacement cult. But NEVER, EVER, achieve the legendary status of Rod Wilks.

I kinda felt like it was something like that from the references but wasn't 100 that that was it. But thank you for taking the time to break it down for me. Appreciate it.

I wonder what got Boo started. He followed that Bama kid around all 4th quarter, telling him about something. I don’t mind a good trash talking, but don’t let it take you from the game or the team.

If Boo was losing that battle, I suspect that Klaw kid would have been following Boo around instead. Very personal whatever it was. Hopefully that isn’t an every game display. It gets tiresome when someone shows up just to run their mouth.
I’m fine with a little jawing just as long as you bring it, and from everything we’ve seen so far, Boo does. For some guys, it’s part of them being locked in and playing with confidence, for others it’s not. Kinda like guitar players who do all kind of crazy faces when they’re playing a solo vs guys like Derek Trucks who barely have any expression in their face.

Well one of the announcers was a Bama alum who couldn't hide his bias if his life depended on it. so there's that. Boo was chirping, the Bama player got physical.
Disagree..McElroy does a great job of not showing biast. We all know that should have been offsetting penalties. Not because of the trash talk, but Carter slapped him too.

That's his point. We would have been pissed as fans if the opposite had happened. You know it and I know it. Boo threw hands back and we were very lucky to not get offsetting penalties.

@jasonvol18

Do I know you?

You live in NC and have an 18yo son named Phillip?

If so...we are gonna get together real soon bud.

On sight.

Should have been offsetting imop since Boo threw a punch too.

Does the rule not call for contact? Luck may not be involved at all.

On the other hand how did the other guy not get a targeting to the head and neck area call? Nothing in the rule requires it to be a live ball foul I have seen.

I want Boo to know he can get in guy’s heads, do it, get them to flip out, then walk away and let them get the penalty and smile

He went over the top? How? What did he say? Oh that’s right, you don’t know. You’re just another “I’m the moral compass for all things.” Also, Boo didn’t slap him, in fact, replay shows he didn’t touch him.
Boo followed the guy and was in his face jawing--thats taunting. Boo did attempt to hit him, which is also deserving of a penalty whether the punch landed or not. No moral compass, just evaluating the situation from a non-biased standpoint based on what I saw and the way similar situations have been handled by officials in the past.
