I am all in now, but wonder how things might change if we don't make to a bowl game this season.
Not turning at all on CBJ, but excuses this season may wear thin. If we're 5-7 again, will slogans fall on deaf ears?

UT might not make a Bowl game this year,I don't see any way that CBJ should be on a hot seat,i have said it before and still believe that he will need 4 to 5 years to get the train back on track

now weather the fans will give him that time or not,is a different question, with all the defensive and offense line starters gone, does anybody really think they will have a good year ?

I think if the whether is cold then Butch will lose. He sucks in cold games

see your point, but 4-5 years to get to bowl is crazy....with the talent coming in. Think about going 5 years to get to a bowl game. that's scarier than rehiring Kiffin on a month to month bases.

I can't speak for next year but I have no doubt that we will be in a bowl game when this recruiting class is in its 2nd year. It's insane to think about a hot seat after next year unless we go 2-10

I agree with needing 4 or 5 years to get back. Of course there are one on VN that think that is way to long. Auburn turned it around in one season, so any coach that cannot do that is not that good. This is the thinking that some actually have. We didn't get this way in 1 or even 5 years.

If anyone seriously thinks CBJ should be on the hot seat if we don't go to a bowl game this season is insane.

i didn't mean a Bowl game in 5 years, they may well not get to one this year is what i meant, who knows ?

he has a hell of a class of recruits coming in,and as we all know, that usually takes em a couple of years to develop into becoming good players in the SEC

I think it will take him 4 more years to get to playing good consistent football for the Vols,it could happen sooner and may well happen, but i don't look for many improvements till 2015,then start looking for Bowl games and for better ones afterward

If Butch does not win next year, he will begin to face problems on the recruiting trail, which will make is somewhat harder for him to bring us back.

it is the lack of starting talent on the offensive and defensive line that is going to be the problem this year, there will be improvement in the skill players, but will it be enough to overcome the lack of experience on both lines ? it will be interesting to watch for sure

Phil Steel recently posted some info regarding returning players...

We are the ONLY D1 replacing both the offensive line and defensive line. We don't know who the QB will be( Half the conference is in the same boat regarding QB's). We are replacing the kicker and punter. We do return DB's and WR's in sufficient numbers.

Take all that and combine it with yet another uber tough schedule and things don't look all that bright for the upcoming season.

Of course, that's me being rational in the off season. :)

I think we make a bowl this season. Long way off though. I wish it would hurry and get here...not wishing my life away though.

I have to agree. I think he needs to get to a bowl game, otherwise he will have a much harder time recruiting.

6-6 is a good season. Butch keeps it real and exciting, recruits will come. 2015 is a banner year on the field.
