get used to it. there's rotation of bowls that we will always be playing in because of the SEC tie ins to certain bowls.Even though I'll be able to go to the bowl because I live in Atlanta...that f'n sucks. Im SICK of us playing at the Peach Bowl! And Im more sick of us losing at the Ga Dome.
The reasons for what you perceive as "negative attitudes":I don't get it. What is wrong with the Peach/Chic fil a Bowl. The last time we were there against Clemson, I had a blast (except for the loss). What a great place to have a bowl. If we play VTech, it will be one of the best bowl games on. Tech fans travel really well and so do we. That place will be going nuts.
I just don't get the negative attitudes.
I attended the '94 Gator Bowl. That's enough interaction with Va Tech fans for me."A festuring cesspool of a city"
I kinda agree with that one however, I don't trudge through the hood to get to the game. We stayed at the Embassy Suites at Olympic Park, ate at RuthChris's steak house and walked a short hop through the CNN building to the game. It was fun.
As far as VTech being a poor opponent from a crappy conference, I have to disagree. Right now, I am not sure who would win the game. I was at the VTech/Wake game and Tech made them look stupid. Wakes only loss was Clemson and they were beating them silly until the blocked FG. Besides, if your not in the BCS, then why not just play a team that travels well and likes to have as good a time as we in the Volnation do? Just my opinion.
The reasons for what you perceive as "negative attitudes":
1. Atlanta is a festering cesspool of a city.
2. Who cares about playing a middle of the road team from a sorry conference?
If the SEC gets two teams in the BCS, we're in the Outback. If not, it depends on the UGA/Ga Tech game. A Ga Tech win and we're in the Peach. A UGA win and we're in the Music City.
It's not overpriced, people will actually pay big money to live here. That's how the free market works. Atlanta, on the other hand, has a relatively low cost of living because you'd have to pay most sane people to live in The World's Largest Urban Renewal Disaster. This coming from someone who lives in one of the most overpriced and drug-filled cities in america.
Atlanta should have been left as it was when Sherman was done marching through. That would be a huge improvement over its current state. It makes Branson East seem almost acceptable. That's a little harsh, but that's hat. I'd say that
1) Atlanta isn't my favorite city
2) I can't play golf or sip toddies by the beach in Atlanta in the middle of winter
3) The bowl is named after a chicken sandwich
4) The bowl has always been considered a notch below the Capital One, Cotton, and even the Outback
5) The bowl is named after a chicken sandwich
6) Who cares about playing a middle of the road team from a sorry conference?
7) The bowl is named after a chicken sandwich
On the positive side, it would beat last year's postseason by a significant margin, and I have a friend in Atlanta who would come to the game. This would be unremarkable except for the fact that she once appeared in Playboy.
Each of the Bowls that have tie ins with the SEC get to pick from the list of bowl eligible teams from the confrence starting with the highest tie in bowl and working their way down. The Cotton is a remote possibility, although I'd say it's very remote. These are the possibilities the way I have it figured:someone said the Music City bowl is a "slap on the face". I don't know. Is there any possibility we would go to Cotton? I have no idea how this thing works.
