Bowl possibilities (Merged)

This information on ESPN was from 11/21. They now have us projected to be in the Outback, I believe.

My bad, they haven't come out with theirs yet. Sorry. Maybe they will put us in the Outback though!

The goal is a Florida bowl, but those spots are filling up. Unless two SEC teams make BCS bowls — a long shot — the Capitol One Bowl in Orlando is prepared to take the loser of the SEC Championship game. The Outback Bowl in Tampa appears to prefer either Auburn or LSU, with the other likely headed to the Cotton Bowl.
Elsewhere, the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta will get all hot and bothered about Georgia if the Dawgs beat Georgia Tech, which would make this an I-40 bowl trip for the Vols — either here for the Music City Bowl or to Memphis for the Liberty Bowl.

Life in the SEC- never a dull moment. I'll be a Georgia Tech fan today.

links? LSU isn't so much a long shot for a BCS bowl. And until someone shows me evidence that the Chic Fil A decided to go against making money, I still don't believe UGA is going there.

The Chik Fil A bowl and the city of Atlanta, does NOT want Georgia playing here. That would be a loss of 10 million dollars or so in local economy.

strange....I would not consider pulling for a ACC team over a SEC team......regardless of how I feel about that team during conference play. So today I'll be pulling for SC and GA wins.

It has nothing to do with how we feel about them. A UGA win over Ga Tech means they are probably going to the Chick Fil A Bowl, and yes that bowl has said that they would love to take the winner of that game, which would put the Vols in the Music City Bowl.

Can't we just throw all of rex's posts into one thread?

He's as much of a broken record as the Phillip Fulmer Thread people.

There are multiple threads on the bowl possibilities, many people have talked about how LSU's win helps because the only team that could get an at-large over them would be a Big East team, yet he starts threads like these trying to bring everyone down.

I don't think it's a long shot anymore. We know that Michigan will get a spot, and so will Notre Dame regardless of the outcome of the USC game. Boise St is in with as win. I think LSU could get the fourth at large bid. The only other option would be one of the Big East teams.

Those are either dead wrong, or just haven't been updated yet Oklavol.

They both have Texas in the BCS too, and they won't even play for the Big12 unless Oklahoma St beats Oklahoma today.

I'm failing to follow why this is "sad." Unless you are just the sort of person that looks at everything with negativity, we have had a pretty nice bounce-back year. If we beat Kentucky and win our bowl game, that puts us at 10-3 -- a record that I'm quite certain the "Doomsdayers" would have thought unreachable after 2005.

Point is: we have improved dramatically from last season. Some really tough injuries on defense, lack of experience and depth up front, and missing our starting QB for a couple of games might have prevented us from playing for an SEC-championship. And that is, of course, our goal. But, take the step forward and build on it for next year.

We've done about as well as anyone could have realistically hoped. Other teams' performances are out of our hands and determine where we'll be playing on New Year's.

I dont want to go to the outback, you play a #28 ranked Penn State team who has already accepted.

If you go to the Chick/Peach everyone is projecting #17 Virginia Tech which is a much better team.

No no... there's nothing i like waking up to in the morning more than rex's constant new thread reminders of horrible everything is.

Hamilton said Capitol One, Outback, Cotton, or Chick-fa-la bowls are the choices. Most likely it will be either Capitol or Outback. If the Cap bowl we play Wisconsin, if Outback we play Penn St

Capitol One Bowl would be best-case scenario... and I guess the Music City Bowl would be the worst. Or is Music City out of the question now?
