Boycott ESPN

Espn came to Knoxville twice in one season and then showed up in Athens. They talked about how great our offense was every chance they could and then we got dominated twice. That's not the fault of ESPN that's on the team. I have to disagree with op on this one
Hey dont bring facts into this. This thread is for hating ESPN and veiled homophobia only.

Don’t let Espn bother you, like someone earlier said just win games. When you win they are going to come. We were Gameday’s destination twice. They are paid to have opinions. Yes some may be bias, it’s always been bias even before ESPN was around. It’s just part of it. There are some that aren’t bias around too. But winning is the best cure. I watch espn when the Vols play or any big game is on but I don’t give it hardly any attention any other time. I watch SEC network and just use the Herbs comments as motivation. GBO

The networks talked down about Tennessee all year long, denigrated the fans and school at every turn, showed bias towards bama in the playoffs and now these a** clowns denied hooker the invitation to NY that he earned.

So I've decided that I am simply going to turn the tv off and listen to Bob during the games. It can't be worse than Gary Danielson.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Disney has been hurt quite a bit by Covid and the economy. They’re struggling more than some are aware. Quite a leadership shakeup there lately.[/QUOTE

Yes, but is it genuine or purposed illusion? Iger's bemoaning taking on the state of FL politically, becoming engaged politically. I haven't seen him address the leftist agenda and sexualization in their programming. Contrary to how the shakeup is being perceived, here's a different take on Iger and Chapek: At Disney, Woke Strikes Back | National Review

I'm good with YT replay or Sporsurge.net for live game.
Doesn't Swing TV carry all UT games?

Everything would be “via” ESPN thus still promoting (and they have to pay ESPN) unless we find an actual pirate channel.

I pay nothing for YT replays in entirety, nor a dime to Sportsurge.
I don't see that SS is paying; it's a bunch of proxy channels that doesn't force you to watch ads because there is no discernible advertising.

I know this board has a vendetta against ESPN and I’ll be cast out for saying this but I honestly think this season ESPN covered the Vols more than fairly. We had GameDay in Knoxville twice. We had GameDay in Athens. Desmond Howard and Rece Davis and Pat McAfee were all extremely complimentary of us during the season. Kirk didn’t pick us a lot and wasn’t a believer, but that doesn’t bother me.

This board just likes to complain about ESPN. That’s the real truth.

Do you still have a nose on your face?

That’s not the point I was making.

The companies are all basically the same. Most of them anyway. YouTube makes money via commercials………”you” are the product they simply give you videos to watch.

Same as Facebook. We are the “products” our time is being bought and sold via adds…….yet we watch on Yourself because we “think” it’s better.

They are still the same companies and still making money and still off of us…….we just not paying them.

I'm not a fan of ESPN, but if we would've beat SC and/or GA they'd still be talking about us, and Hooker would have been invited to the Heisman.

Unfortunately, our team didn't win in two of their most important games of the season (at the time).

I stopped watching ESPN years ago outside of when UT plays. My life is exponentially better because of it.

Sportsurge doesn't force you to watch ads because it's a bunch of proxy channels that have no discernible advertising. There's no subscription and no app. If the proxies are paying, it's out of the goodness of their heart because I don't see the revenue stream and most ask for donations to keep servers running. I understand the FB/YT model; this has no appearance of being that. Service on some channels can be spotty to unwatchable. Some are reliable enough for regular watching.

The YT reruns I watch if unable to catch live, are posted by VN's owner. If he's paying ESPN, I wouldn't know.

Yea

I was talking about Youtube

YouTube has the exact model as Facebook

Also we’re on the internet with someone.

We can limit as much we we can……but almost impossible to get away from it all entirely without simply getting off everything.

Yes, I edited last post to understand FB/YT as you were posting.
Does VN pay YT or ESPN to post game replays? I'll bet not; in fact YT probably pays him and makes viewers watch ads. I'll watch ads; I won't subscribe to ESPN/Disney.

I felt like they kept giving us Gameday hoping we would lose and they could talk crap about us.
Wuut? Everybody on the panel picked us to beat Georgia, except that ignorant country singer, who happened to be right. He and his hobnail boot would've picked them no matter what.
