Bracketmatrix 2021-22

We are a better team this year than last year ... overall.
We have better chemistry than last year. (We will see if that chemistry still works with ON out for the year.)
And frankly, with Fulkerson out - right before the tournament ... we were not a 5 seed by any stretch of the imagination.
Still a lot of games to play ... the biggest games that will impact / affect seeding ... in a big way ... MS tomorrow, KY on Tuesday and the last three games Auburn, Georgia and Arkansas.

We had 3 nba players on our team last year and only 1 this year

Last year’s team prior to the Fulky assault was more talented vs this year. They had the problem of Covid in trying to blend talented freshmen so they have gelled better this season
But he didn’t say anything about being more talented? He said we are a better team this year than last year.

Arkansas isn’t even on here but guaranteed you’ll all of a sudden see them above us in brackets

There is no doubt in my mind that Arkansas will be above us in quite a few (if not most) brackets until we win a big game. We've been pretty under-valued by almost all pundits. Metrics loves us, but metrics don't get you talked about sadly.

We beat Arizona at home. Who by most metrics is a better team

Arkansas up to 22nd in KenPom currently. We need Purdue to win tonight, Duke to slip up at Clemson Thursday and UCLA to lose at USC this weekend. We would more than likely jump up to 11th coming out of the weekend if we handle business, with the opportunity to build a very nice resume starting with next week’s games.

Still given a 56% chance to win in Fayetteville. However without ORN, that should probably be less unless the situation lights a fire under Fulky or BHH or someone

Vols up to 11th in net ratings.

Only Auburn, Wisconsin and Texas Tech have more Q1 and Q2 wins than us without a Q2 or worse loss.

There are only really 3 left on our schedule, Vandy, @Mizzou or @UGA. Arkansas will probably a Q1 home game for us.

The odds say we're likely to go 3-2 in our remaining Q1 games. The chances we get to a .500 record in Q1 games is 26% and a winning record 7%. Though that doesn't account for S Carollina becoming a Q1 road win for us. Which they're just outside the top 100.
