And for some SEC bracketology...we are in a 3-way tie with LSU and Ark for the 5th and 6th seeds in the SEC tourney. LSU and Ark play each other in their final game. If we can beat Auburn on Sunday, we're assured of at least the 6th seed, which is a pretty big advantage in the tournament even though it's not a bye. The further we can get in the SEC, the better our chances on selection night.

I think were really going to need to ramp up the intensity to beat Auburn. They are playing better than almost anyone in the league except South Carolina. Even beating them we will have to win another game against a lower ranked team and at least get to playing a top four team in the tourney to get in. Looks much harder than last season as at this time were not playing with much intensity and attitude like we care about going. If we beat Auburn then it looks like we'll play the Missouri Ole Miss winner which almost certainly will be Missouri. If we win that one then appears more than likely Miss State would be the opponent. If we get to that game versus Miss State or a top four were in JMO. That leaves us with two games to win to get in against teams we should beat.
Even if we lose to Auburn I think we could get in by winning two games in the SEC tourney as one would be against a top four team. That is the hard way to do it winning against Auburn and Missouri should be a given, but I don't believe it is this season. Very weak play last night especially on defense and that is where you need to get it done.

In the tournament brackets . #6 plays winner of #11 vs. #14 ...... winner plays #3 .... that winner to #2 .... then finals !

#7 plays #10 ..... winner plays #2 ..... winner to #3 vs. #6 ..... winner to finals!

I hope this helps , just win lets you have a better draw. Auburn is a big must win . JMO

10 will be Georgia or Florida. 11 and 14 will be Missouri and Ole Miss. If you make it through the first round 6 plays Miss St 7 plays more than likely Kentucky although that is not decided yet.

I want a shot at both KY and Miss St. again and anyone else for that matter ( with the exception of SC). We’ve played it close against the top tier teams and should have or could have won those games...plus it’s hard to beat a team twice.

Big one today. A loss means we’d probably have to make the SECT semis to go to the NCAAT.

won by 35 at Missouri, that's about it --- oh, and they have Bella Alarie, which can always be milked for a story

Regardless of the competition level, at least Princeton displays something which eludes our game and it’s called defense.

And I’d take Alarie any day of the week.

And... for what it may be worth, Princeton's current RPI rank is 10, while ours is
61. And they play defense, and have Alarie. Ooops! OriginalCoach already told us that. Sorry.

Don't like RPI? OK. Massey ratings:
Princeton 7
Tennessee 38

Purdue gets hammered again 77-56 loss Ohio State Charlie has them a 11 seed ? They have lost six of their last eight games, The last two by a combined 64 points. 17-13 (8-10 Big Ten) I just don`t see them getting in ? Sharon Versyp might be on her way out ? this link is old Purdue Gives Versyp 6-year Contract Extension i would be surprised if they don`t buy her out.

What would the likely seeding for Tennessee be assuming the following in the SEC tournament:

Lose first game - 11 seed or out of NCAA tournament
win first game and lose to Kentucky - 10 seed
Win first, second and lose third - 8 or 9 seed
Make it to final and lose - 6 seed
Win it all - not going to happen

10 seed
9 seed maybe
Probably right but if we get there I will be stoked

That’s about how I see it paying out... but for fun if we win may have a push for a 4 in all seriousness. So much movement in the top 16 anyway

Looks to me there are five teams between us and being out of the tourney maybe six. Maryland is rated the number three one seed so we would be the number three ten seed. Since at large teams seldom go past an eleven seed that would put four eleven seeds and one ten seed between us and being out. This means we may not be out if we lose that first game but also that we could. I think winning the first game totally insures the bid. I hope we win all the way to the title game which would probably send us upwards to a six or seven. Winning two puts you in the bad position of being the 8 or 9 which I consider the worst seed you can have unless your 12 or below.

So who was applying the pressure? I don’t see anyone at UT last year who would have pull with the selection committee.

I don't know who gets to lobby the committee, but that guy Charlie Creme said after every loss down the stretch that U-T was on the bubble. It sure looked like after every loss, the bar got lowered for U-T compared to other schools.

Seems like after the last two wins, the bar keeps getting raised. I thought if we just beat Auburn and got to 20 wins we were in. Seems like winning ugly is keeping us on the bubble. Surely one more win in the SEC tourney and we're in?

You know I thought that. We always kind of over worry. But let's win an SEC tourney game just for good measure.
I think the SEC could make a record for the number of teams invited to the NCAA Tournament. Here's who I think will go dancing.

South Carolina
Mississippi State
Texas A&M
Tennessee
Arkansas
Kentucky
LSU
Alabama

That would be great, it's easy to see all those teams as deserving. We have to hope there aren't many conference tourney Cinderellas who take unexpected slots in the NCAA. Except in the SEC of course, where the LVs would be a perfect Cinder.
