Brady Chokes!

Nice call by Belichoke not to kick the 48 yard field goal on 4th and 13. Those 3 points would not have come in handy. Ha ha.

kinda odd that Brady lovers (and I'm probably one) rarely say this of Manning's o-line when it tanks.
now that's fair as hell.

but even still, i have to give the credit to the giants D line and LB's. you're talking about a pats team that averaged 1.something sacks a game for 18 games. he got hit upwards of 20 times, sacked 5 times...had at least one ball batted at the line.....

i mean, call it what you want, but what i saw last night was the patriots getting beat at the LOS. that caused the hurried throws, over throws or low throws from Brady.

and even with that, with 8 minutes to go, down by three, he drove them 70+ yards, took 6 minutes off the clock and got a TD to take the lead.

when it mattered, again, Brady performed like he usually does. that drive the the 4th qtr really put it in to context that Brady is what makes the pats go. there was a play on that drive where they had a camera on Brady's face, his eyes were looking left, Welker was coming across the middle to the right, Brady hit him in stride, but NEVER looked at him, eyes looking left when the ball left his hands. he is that good.

but this time, they left too much time for Eli and the giants.

that was the play that perplexed me to no end. me and a buddy were talking at half time, and i just kept telling him, if the pats come out on the 1st posssesion of the 2nd half and eat up 6-8 minutes and get a TD, that could spell doom for the giants....that would take htem out of what they want to do offensively and force the to score TD's, and do it immediately.

well, the pats took 9 minutes off the clock and got NO points. i didn't see that coming....i was shocked at that myself.

I don't know. I do not get that call at all. I thought Gostkowski was a pretty good kicker.

wasn't it 4th and long as well? like 13 or something? If it was short I might have understood the decision better, but I still take points.

It would have been different maybe if it was 4th and 4 or something like that. But 4th and 13? No way.

Gostkowski hasn't been consistent from long range.

Had the Pats converted, it would have been a smart move.

Take it a step further....it seems like Belichick bought into the hype about his offensive juggernaut. Until this year, the Patriots have been dominant as the ultimate "grind it out" defensive team and that best suits Chick's personality. Sure, a departure from that got them 18 wins, but Vinateri was very instrumental in their first 3 Superbowl victories. I see some irony in this loss.

you are not the only one. Brady threw it, what....48 times? how many carries did maroney have? less than 10?

He was 60% from 40+. Not great but not awful. If you are playing percentages, I would think making 4th and 13 is lower than 60%.

As do I. As to anyone that wants to argue what's more important, a good offense or a good defense, well look at last night.

It also proves to the world that eventually you have to be able to run the ball to beat a good defense.

I would agree with you.

I agree with Lex, maybe Bill bought into his "unstoppable" offense talk. Maybe he just had no faith in his kicker or maybe he wanted to break the Giant's back.

Brady did not choke. Nobody would succeed with the pressure he was under. You could say the Pats O line chocked but I would rather give credit to the NYG D line.

It was fun seeing Brady picking himself off the turf all game long.

It was almost like you could have put Colts uniforms on the Patriots last night. Or at least from a game where the Colts have been bounced out. Tons of passing and no running game. Colts have become more balanced it seems but it looks like this Pats team went in the other direction.

that's possible, but that defies the way the Pats have won the past 10 games or so. They have played smart football moving the ball down the field and scored when they could. They broke their opponent's backs by getting a lead and then waiting on their opponent to make a stupid mistake and acting on it.

To me, by not kicking the field goal this time they broke their own back. There's no doubt it would've looked made Bill look like a genius had they converted, but seriously with how the Gmen were consistently knocking the Pats in the mouth the odds are very, very low that you're going to pull it off.

well at the end of hte day, who cares? what's bad for hte patriots, is good for me. ding dong the witch is dead, the witch is dead!!!!!

congrats to the giants for making the patriots THE BEST TEAM TO EVER LOSE THE SUPERBOWL, and the ONLY TEAM YOU'LL REMEMBER FOR HAVING LOST THE SUPERBOWL.

it was a good night folks.

This thread is a jab at all the Peyton choked threads. When the Colts lose - it is Peyton's fault therefore this loss must be Brady's fault

i can see that, but in brady's defense, he didn't throw picks resulting in poionts, as Peyton has done in the past....but i get what you're saying.....it's not all on one person. there actually is another team TRYING to stop you and win the game themselves. it's a novel concept.:eek:lol:
