Luckily for us we have a very good D-Line class without him, still hurts though...I think we finish pretty well with this class...I don't really see us pulling off anything like we did last year with so many surprises.

Get Green, Cullen, Robinson, Riley, Jones, Mosely and I will be happy.

This was going to happen anyway at the Army game. At least now people won't be on pins and needles for the next week waiting to see what he does. UNC has been his leader for a few weeks now. I'll be shocked if he goes to UCLA.

"I called (Volunteers quarterbacks) coach (David) Reaves and told him that I de-committed," Willis first told Rivals.com Saturday afternoon. "It's nothing against Tennessee. I just feel comfortable elsewhere and have better relationships with other coaches."

The Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes standout said the Vols assistant was surprised by his decision.

"Coach Reaves was kind of shocked," the 6-foot-3, 265-pounder admitted. "He thought I was firm. He asked me if he was able to change my mind, but he can't. I last talked to (defensive line) coach (Ed) Orgeron on Christmas Eve and haven't talked to coach (Lane) Kiffin in a while.

"I'm going to pick between North Carolina and UCLA during the (Army) game and will choose one of those two hats then," the Palmetto State product shared. "I'll be enrolling a few days after I announce at the Army game."

Willis broke down what he likes about each of his finalists.

North Carolina - "I like (defensive line) coach (John) Blake and coach Butch Davis a lot. They are good coaches. I also talked to their defensive coordinator (Everett Withers) when I went there on my official visit and he's a good guy, too. They have good tradition there. My mom and my uncle both went there. I have family there and it's a good atmosphere."

UCLA - "They need defensive linemen. (Defensive line) coach (Todd) Howard is a good coach. They are trying to bring that program back. They offer a great education, plus there's a lot to do in L.A."

As a senior, Willis recorded 13 sacks and 15 tackles for loss. As a junior he had 144 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 13 sacks.

The nation's No. 6 strongside defensive end, per Rivals.com, had 103 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and four sacks as a sophomore.

I could understand if he wanted to play for Carl Weathers but Everett Withers? Really? maybe he has the two confused?

Why is that?
I have seen a couple of posts on it, but it does not make any sense to me. Does it have something to do with, sign, and place?
From what I've heard it has more to do with the number they can back count. 25 this year, plus 5 backcounted to last year, plus 3 sign and place

Good news is there are more recruits of similar or greater talent than Willis and we have plenty of time to replace him. The really good news is Miller isn't the one lost in all of this hostess nonsense. We've taken the worst the NCAA, SEC, NYTs, and everyone else has to throw at us so far and are further along than we were last year as far as class ranking. Our three star LB was an MVP at the UA game and looked like one of the best LBs there. I'm assuming this staff knows what they are doing when it comes to evaluating talent, closing the deal late in recruiting, and coaching recruits up once we get them in orange, I don't see a lot more we need to be positive about.
