Brandon Willis- the Vols have life again

from a article on espn..... but i know how everybody thinks of espn so tifwiw....

UCLA is involved with defensive lineman Brandon Willis (Duncan, S.C./Byrnes), who was slated to pick between the Bruins and North Carolina earlier in the week. At the time, the Tar Heels appeared to be the heavy leaders and there was much discussion that the lineman was slated to pick the Heels and then enroll in Chapel Hill the following week.

In the last few days, however, various reports have come out saying Willis had soured on the Heels and was going in a different direction. Good news for the Bruins right? Not so fast. The team that now appears not only back in the picture but possibly leading is Tennessee, the school Willis just publicly de-committed from a week ago.

Apparently, Willis' concerns about the Vols possibly being slapped with sanctions due to some recruiting discrepancies have been alleviated. A few Vols commitments have also been in his ear and it now looks like Willis will return to his first love and stick with Tennessee

Looking good for Willis....I don't think he ever truly wanted to leave. He was just fed a big load of BS about how Tenn was going to be put on probation and would lose commits.

With all his back pedaling, I don't care where he goes. He's fast but very undersized for a DT. He'll probably be SDE where ever he goes. But, doesn't matter to me though.

Good grief. The kid is making the most important decision of his young life and you're going to get an attitude because he's having a hard time deciding? Cut him some slack.

Great Guns we are going to have a recruiting class that won't quit.... add that with last year and we are on our way//

I've gotta say this is the first year I've followed recruiting this hard and all of this; "I'm committed...but still looking, I'm committed to UT but I'm still taking visits, I've decommitted but there's a chance I might still commit..." is BS.
Why because it frustrates YOU? SO WHAT?

I think it shows alot of wisdom for CLK and the staff to encourage these kids to take their trips, have a good time, and be absolutely sure that they are doing the right thing. Yeah, it can get your blood pressure up a little... but then again the kid is making a decision that will change the course of his life. I don't think the stress they cause those of us who follow recruiting compares to that.

Ignorance was bliss...this is just frustrating.

Maybe you should let it go then and check back in on NSD?

PS- As communications savvy as these kids are now... there's a very good chance that they, their families, and/or their friends read what's posted here. Volnation is by far the top Vol site.

Guys, take a chill pill. Don't worry about any recruit we have committed. All will turn out better than you could have imagined.

+1 Exactly, we already have a very, very good class and have a chance to make it one of the better and more well rounded classes that we have had in years.

11 4 stars is a lot of quality players and we have guys like Michael Taylor, Palardy, Fugate and Ralph Williams. Look at what our staff did with Freshmen this past season.

It sounds like Farell was just giving his opinion about who "could" pose as the biggest threat to us getting Ambles but it was far from a quote or anything said on Ambles part.
Nobody drink the bad kool aid....

Any more news coming from down texas on Willis's status towards us? Heck, any news at all what he's eatin for supper, bedtime, anything?

I'm not the one publicly whining about how this kid's struggle to make a life changing decision "frustrates" ME.

There is speculation that the 6-foot-3, 255-pounder may already be committed to North Carolina.

Willis, who is scheduled to announce his college destination on Saturday during the telecast of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, maintained that's not the case.

"I'm not committed to North Carolina," Willis said. "I'm undecided right now."

Willis said he's still considering UT, North Carolina and UCLA.

"In my mind, I pretty much know (where I'm going) but there's some second guessing," he said. "I just want to be comfortable with what I'm about to do."

Despite having an inclination where he's headed, Willis refused to even admit that the Tar Heels have a slight lead.

"They're all three about the same," he said. "I wouldn't put them over anyone."

from article on gvx......it doesnt sound as good there

I think a lot of people think most kids are just doing this for attention and whatnot. If that were true, I don't see a big deal, because this only happens once. But I really think a lot of these guys just don't know where they want to go. I had to make tough decisions for undergrad and grad schools. In both instances, I paid a deposit to hold my seat at multiple schools and had to eat that loss for the schools that didn't make the cut. I just couldn't make up my mind.
