Do you want Bray to return?

101-151 67% 1574 yards 15 td's 1 int. non conference games

167-300 56% 2038 yards 19 td's 11 int. conference games

what is not in the stats is his tendency to quit, pout, mail in effort, and perform poorly when the game is on the line.

yeah, i want bray back

My point is he is a great passer not a great QB those my friends are way different things.

Stats dont mean everything. I can make bad stats look good and good stats look bad. What i see on the field is a guy with a great long ball arm, good receivers, terrible at touch passes, and bad on the field leadership.

Now what was your point again oh ya...hes not a good qb but can throw the ball well, which is only half the battle for a Good or great QB.
I agree with bad leadership, but disagree that he is not a good QB and is terrible at touch passes.

The majority of long passes require touch to drop the ball in over the db. The opposite of touch is throwing a dart on out pattern, over the middle, etc. It's impossible to be a great long ball passer with terrible touch. I don't know how you can say great long ball arm and terrible at touch. That makes absolutely no sense.

Don't forget bad footwork in the pocket and slow and sloppy mechanics. Dude is a very nice thrower who needs LOTS of work at being a Qb. The question is, where does he get it. Here, or the NFL? Envious position to be in for any young man.

they say not to judge a book by its cover.

i like to joke that most people are magazines and you can damn sure usually judge a magazine by its cover.

whether it's the nfl or college, i judge tyler bray by his cover......his back tattoo.

that's tyler bray. that's who he is as a player. that's how i'll always remember him.

He has the "ability", but he rarely uses it. The 5 yarders keep drives alive and the defense on the sidelines. There were times we desperately needed to possess the ball this year and couldn't. Effectively throwing our defense to the wolves. We lost as a team. Everyone was at fault. Everyone.

Agree we lost as a team. But I find it interesting you state Bray threw our defense to the wolves. I could also argue that the defense put our offense in terrible situations. Chicken or the egg.

The problems with Bray's game are the toughest things to fix. Not saying a good coach couldn't set him right, but the odds aren't great.

Curious which problems you are referring to. He's not a natural leader but that can be obtained through coaching and maturity. I don't see a lot of mechanical issues that couldn't be corrected. He relies on his arm strength a lot (throwing off back foot, etc) but which problems are you suggesting cant be fixed.

We rarely came out and dictated to a defense what we were going to do in the big games. There were times when a drive for a score in the second half of the losses would have changed the outcome. This team was going to win on offense. Nobody knew the defense would be this bad. But still they kept Florida & Alabama within striking distance through 3 quarters. But our offense was sputtering around when we needed them most. The defense finally gave out and we got blew out.

In the Florida game we had many chances to go up two scores. We never could be consistent on offense and failed every time. Alabama we had every chance to score and keep up. We couldn't. It was such a hit or miss offense. Nothing consistent. It did accumulate great numbers though.

Long balls take accuracy not touch always touch. Touch to me is htting a guy out of the backfield and leading him so he does not have to break stride. Touch to me is hitting a crossing route underneath the dropping linebackers or when the receiver settles vs zone coverage. He has the habit of gunning everything even routes that are less than 10 yards down field.

Also on long balls receivers can make you look more accurate by their adjustments on the ball.

Trust me he is not that great just a big arm.

If you want to say he doesn't have touch on short throws, I will accept that. However, he has great touch on long passes. If you can't recognize that, then I don't know what else to say.

As far as gunning all routes less than 10 yards, it depends on the route. A slant MUST be thrown very hard or a corner will jump the route and intercept it. Same goes for a hitch, curl and out pattern all of which are generally 10 yards or less. About the only route that should not be thrown hard is a screen pass or a swing pass.

You are confusing touch with accuracy. Leading a receiver in stride is not touch - that is accuracy. Dropping a ball over the top of a defender is touch.

Wow is all I can say to that comment. It is amazing to me that you truly believe all of our problems this year are completely on the shoulders of Bray. Bray sucked; therefore our offense sucked; therefore our defense gave out and we got blown out.
