Bray will never

Agreed...there are some amazing QB coaches in the NFL & if Bray ends up with one of those, he'll be fine.

tearing it up in the NFL: Bray has ZERO in common with them. They are all mobile and very mature, for starters, two qualities (one physical, one mental) that Bray lacks. Toss in a total lack of leadership ability and I see Bray making a fairly quick exit from the league. One needs a helluva lot more than an arm to become a pro QB. I hope I'm wrong--he's no doubt a good kid with some talent and he had it tough with our crappy defense and coaching issues--but QBs need to have some fire and some passion, and I never saw that from Bray, who also never got it done when the game was truly on the line.

Jay Cutler might have been a better comparison. Both gunslingers, with big arms, who throw int's, because there ego gets in the way. Think they can make all the throws. And trying to always make the bug play will probably be his downfall in the NFL.
JMO

Cutler could and is capable of reading a defense.

Tyler Bray never exhibited the demeanor, attitude, disposition, or (fill in your own word) that I hope to see in a Tennessee Vol. Bray was certainly not the only disappointment, but, by virtue of his position, he was the most visible. To me, he was like the second coming of Kelley Washington. Lord, help me for saying this, but I just don't want to win bad enough to put up with guys like that.

Hopefully you don't get hurt if you fall off your high horse. It sounds like it would be a pretty long fall.

Ryan Tanneyhill was a top ten pick and is doing pretty good. Bray throws better and showed more against good teams. Who did RT beat? His leadership got 7 wins in the Big12. His replacement led the same team to 10 wins in the SEC.

This thread is pathetic...to see some of our "fans" say they hope one of our own will fail at the next level is beyond embarassing. I really hope no recruits read this and see the type of support they would receive if they don't win enough games (as if the fact that they were playing under the worst in-game coach in the SEC had nothing to do with it). I sure as hell wouldn't want to come and play here if I was one of them and read this thread.

How can people say he showed no fire and desire to win while here? His coach is the one who showed no fire to win games. Bray was visible pissed and used a few choice words against Mizzou when he was told to take a knee. The same kid who was also seen on the sidelines crying his eyes out after a couple of close losses. Just because the kids not an Al Wilson type of leader does not mean he doesn't want to win as much as anyone. He will probably go on and tear it up in the NFL and when he doesn't represent Tennessee the way you guys want you'll bash him over that as well. The kid was in a lose lose situation. Puts up huge numbers, scores tons of points but loses because the defense gives up more. Lights up the lower level teams and squeaks out a win and its what he's supposed to do, not what he is having to do against those teams. Everyone is on his ass for not beating Alabama, Georgia and Florida....news flash not many people at all beat those teams. The ones who did, did so with defense. I know ATM beat Bama and everyone says that was all Johnny Football, the truth about that game was ATM made plays on defense to win the game.

Bray needs to declare for the draft - he needs a big dose of humility. He's not a first round pick, not likely a 2nd or 3rd. He has become a distraction at UT. Obviously very talented, but lacks work ethic, self-discipline, and character to succeed in the NFL (or for that matter any further at Tennessee). He can't stay out of trouble and he has way too much "look at me" syndrome. For Coach J to start building a team, he needs to go so they can start fresh with younger guys. Bray will become another Todd Marinovich, Matt Leinhart, JaMarcus Russell or Ryan Leaf in fairly short order. Wait and see.....

I go back to Majors,Urbano,Cruze,Gordy and "Hacksaw", Kiner and even Fisher (RIP). I'm sure they would tell you to "be proud of men who wore the Orange and if you didn't like them, keep your mouth shut." One piss-poor first post. But Hey, welcome, another negavol on the board.

If you ever wore the orange, you belong on the pedestal.

From a scout I follow on Twitter:

Matt Miller @nfldraftscout: Everything I'm hearing today points to teams really not liking Tyler Bray. Still early, but reports aren't kind.

Bray will be fine and will have a good NFL career. Why OP is butt hurt about him I don't know.

At the end of the day, he was one of our players. Support him going forward. We need more Vols in the NFL that talk up UT not more Fosters that talk about us poorly.

Bray will either go to Oakland, Arizona, San Diego, or Jacksonville. I think he has a high chance of being drafted in rounds 3-4. He might fit better in Oakland since D. Moore is there.

Bray could start with the Cardinals next year,,,,,,, I think he will be fine in the nfl

+1 There are teams that are desparate, but I wish he would go to my boys as the QB of the future! Not sure why all the negativity about this guy...not his fault he played for an uninspiring coach and had a trainwreck on D. Look at it this way, Joe Flacco(?) played at Delaware. Bray would have lit that competition up! He's got a shot...

start in the nfl .
if ainge and casey couldnt make it no way in hell bray does

There were many people, legions who said ( It pains me to admit that I agreed at the the time) that Arian Foster would never start in the NFL cause he cant stop fumbling. How did that turnout for him? Bray could flop , could be all-pro, wait and see.
