Bray will never

so we have people saying they dont even think he could start next year for the vols and during this year dooley benches him but he can go start for the nfl ok.

When did Ryan Leaf flourish in the NFL? He couldnt even steal oxy without getting caught. Half the players you listed sucked. But I will agree that Bray and Leaf are on the same playing field, both are ****ty qbs

I wish him the best but he has a few major things to overcome. First is his attitude, but I bet his new teammates will get that cocky, arrogant, I'm better than everybody, attitude worked out the first day he shows up to camp. The second is his inability to read defenses and a NFL staff should be able to teach him this. I think it will take 2-3 years but if he works hard and loses his attitude he could start.

TBH to the people saying check his stats, you should only check his stats vs QBs in the last 4-5 years. Lots of reasons but mostly Offenses have changed and similar Defenses,
Its nice to lead the SEC in some stat but its not a indicator of success.

TN scores points but we couldn't figure out how to get into run plays to keep the clock moving and blew winnable drives vs UF / UGA / Miss St / USC. If you can win the game at the last possession some of that blame on the defense gets shifted back to the O. I dont look at Tyler Bray and see him moving the Offense into new plays, or not panicking when something bad happens. He's cocky when hes a front runner and fades when he's losing. A triumph over Troy doesn't spell awesomeness.

Like I said in a previous post i feel bad for him because he has bad info. Just because someone says you will get drafted doesn't mean its in your best interest. Getting to make 3 million dollars over 4 years and out wont take him far. Thats like 1,395,000 total revenue he earns. Too many kids are fooled into thinking that is alot. Since he will be basically being paid under 1 mil a year hes a nice "fixable" asset till the 2014-2015 draft. When a better fixable asset comes along. Like it or not he will now be compared to his peers and they are Eons apart. This isn't a sit on the bench league and watch league anymore. Now that the cap is in place for rookies teams see no point in waiting. If he does play he will play for a loser team trying to rebuild. We as vol fans have seen how he handles that already.

I am excited for a few of the other vols going to the league because its obvious the skill sets translate big. For everyone thinking people hate Tyler Bray its just an argument between homers and realist mostly.

The realist know that Bray will get drafted in the top three rounds. Qbs drafted in the top three rounds start at some point 90% of the time. Bray is a better passer than Ryan Tanneyhill who was drafted top 10 and BEAT NO ONE at TAM. The wins are overrated in NFL eyes. Thats why qbs on undefeated NC teams don't get drafted sometimes and Qbs like RT with bad records go top ten. Bray is a better passer and will be a better NFL qb than Tebow, Sanchez, Chad Henne, Brady Quinn, Nick Foles ,Christian Ponder, and every Cardinals Qb, they start or have started. He will play and be fine. He did more against good teams in college than several starting NFL qbs. Who did Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tanneyhill, Flacco, Roethlisberger, Shaub, Locker, Romo, Foles beat that were so great in college? Jay Cutler's 11-35 mark kept him from being drafted and playing didn't it? Who drafted Josh Heupel, Ken Dorsey, Chris Leak, Craig Krenzel, Matt Mauck, Tommie Fraizer, Jason White, Brian Johnson of Utah and what did they do in the NFL? All won a NC or Heisman or had an undefeated season and NC appearance . The NFL doesn't draft on college wins. I don't think you people actually watch or follow the NFL. They want someone who can make all the throws so THEY can coach them and get them right. Bray is a great talent and will make the smart ones here that support him proud. He is hands down our best qbs besides Manning when it comes to talent and NFL potential. Its areason all the draft experts say he would be no lower than third round but could be drafted first. He has as much talent as any qb in college. The NFL knows he played with a sh***y defense.

I think that was the point of his post.

If he's coached well, Bray will tear it up in the NFL

Agree, he could be Bradyish. If he gets his head right...witch has been a common denominator* on this thread. Has always had the tools just not the right attitude, and that's probably why he'll stay a backup in the NFL. Best of luck

Jay Cutler might have been a better comparison. Both gunslingers, with big arms, who throw int's, because there ego gets in the way. Think they can make all the throws. And trying to always make the bug play will probably be his downfall in the NFL.

Like someone said earlier, it's all about how he does at the combine. He reminds me of Mallett a little bit, not as good as Mallet but if he goes to a team where he can sit behind a good QB and pick up on some things he might be pretty good one day.

Whoa whoa whoa, he was much better than RM. Call him names just don't call RM.

lol this thread is funny.. it amazes me how little some people know about football and then live on these forums..

Bray has incredible arm strength and accuracy, how well he throws the long ball alone will get him drafted and a start at some point.

What he does with that start? no one knows, he could fold by making bad decisions and cost himself his job.. or he could tear it up and be rookie of the year

I remember a number of threads exactly like this about Foster.. and now he is one of the top RB's in the NFL.

The question is do you actually believe this krap, or do you just want it to be true because of some made up garbage people around here throw around about him.

The guy has the talent.. its not his fault he has not had the coaching, or enough of a defense to hold a high school team to under 40 points in a game..

Check the stats again.. Top QB in the SEC.. and top 4 or 5 we have ever had at this school... anyone the bad mouths him, or hopes he goes pro and does not stay for his senior year is a complete moron.

Honestly I hope bray falls flat on his face. Worst era in Tennessee history he was apart of. I've had my love for tennessee qbs Manning, Martin, Casey, Ainge, hell even Crompton but Bray adiós. His production will be missed but he will not.

What a d-bag I guess worst coach & worst D had nothing to do with anything.

Wow if I was a recruit & read this thread of what type of idiot fans I would have to deal with I would find another school

And for the one's who complain about his attitude & never mention his leader Dooley need to see reality. I guess some here have never had a pos boss to work for in their life. No wonder his leadership sucked, his boss sucked

The guy is gone. Wish him well and on to the next guy.

Tyler Bray never exhibited the demeanor, attitude, disposition, or (fill in your own word) that I hope to see in a Tennessee Vol. Bray was certainly not the only disappointment, but, by virtue of his position, he was the most visible. To me, he was like the second coming of Kelley Washington. Lord, help me for saying this, but I just don't want to win bad enough to put up with guys like that.

Bray has all the physical tools to be a starter in the NFL. However, as we've seen in the past, it takes more than that to even have a chance.
I doubt his leadership, attitude, maturity and his mental toughness. You can debate that it was his fault or Dooley's all you want but it doesn't change the fact that those things were never present while he wore the orange and white. I'm sure he'll be drafted. I wouldn't even be surprised if he made it on a team as the #3 or 4 guy and stuck around for a bit. But I will be utterly shocked if he ever gets a regular season start.
