Breakdown Of Arrest / Citations

The "they are kids being kids" excuse is BS they know the rules like everyone else. Now I get they made a mistake but they still need to be punished. If AJ wants to go to the draft to avoid trouble then let him go CBJ needs to send a message to the rest of the team.

Shut up, Grandpa! You're senile and shouldn't be talking!

I've been to military funerals of my fellow vets killed in the line of duty. I've been to funerals of people killed by drunks. The difference is the vets volunteered and knew the risk, the DWI victims did not. By the way both of my fellow vets drank beer, couldn't afford "fine wine".

There's nothing wrong with drinking beer or fine wine, just do it in moderation, and not to excess. If you are out, let someone else who isn't drinking do the driving.

Looking at everything I can find:

Party got out of hand.
Quarry Trail security guard called it in.

1: Sherriff's deputies arrive THE FIRST TIME and tell 'em to turn down the music and cool it. AND LEAVE.

2: Before the deputies get far, the music goes back up, so they return FOR THE SECOND TIME, TELL 'EM TO TURN DOWN THE MUSIC, COOL IT ...AND LEAVE!

3. Half an hour later: A FIGHT BREAKS OUT, GETS CALLED IN, AND BACK THEY GO FOR THE THIRD TIME!

And if you read what I've posted about this, I think some of it's funny, (fake ID ... but it is agin the law),
that drinking laws for most all states across America are ineffective and should mirror European law where children are taught to how to handle alcohol by their parents at an early age, before they even get out in public or behind a wheel; some wil get off the hook, some will run til they puke, and some may be sentenced to a judge to community service. And all of it will blow over by the O&W game. Players will grin at each other as they remember it in their old age, just like my friends laugh when we talk about gettin smashed, going pool hopping, gettin chased by the cops, and fled across the creek and up the mountain in Gatlinburg ... some didn't make it ... I did:yahoo:

But we DO have the laws. The party was out of hand. They were disturbing the peace. Deputies TWICE told em to cool it and left, then got called back for a fight. Officers are sworn to uphold the law. They did their job. If you don't like the drinking laws, their are plenty of groups working to change them.

In no way can ANYONE say the police were in the wrong the way they handled the situation. THAT position is so immaturely indefensible as to be just plain whack.

If you don't like being called so immature it's just plain whack, it's your problem grow up...join the real society of America, become a Man (with a capital M) if you can.

written as I thinks to me own self: I don know, might be too late for some. They'll forever call the police "Po-Po" in their sad state of arrested development.

How do you know what AJ did or didn't do? What if he was sober and trying to help? Is that not feasible? Officers say nothing about him being drunk or high. Or he is supposed to just not go at all?

Some of you wouldn't have survived the 80's on campuses. We wouldn't be able to field a team. This stuff happened all the time, except there was usually cocaine, weed, alcohol, and violence.
AJ obviously shouldn't have "attacked" the officer or whatever but I've seen too many guys that should be arrested at parties walk away while guys that didn't deserve anything were thrown in a car by an officer with an attitude.
12 cars. And underage drinking citations. And an empty one hitter with 100 people around? Knock on the doors of the next 5 houses and find more.
Resisting arrest can be any thing. I stepped to the side of the road while being "detained" in college to avoid oncoming traffic on a two lane hwy . Cop got mad because I told him there was car coming.

They just want money.

......bet there is more to this story than what is available here. In fact, you probably moved after the officer told you to stop where you were. At that point, you did not have the right to do so, whether you agreed or not.

Isn't this a first offense for players who don't have a history of trouble? Give them a warning, discipline internally however CBJ thinks appropriate, then move on. They're college kids who exhibited poor judgment, like college kids sometimes do. We should hope they learned a lesson and be thankful they didn't stick up fans at the Pilot with a pellet gun and a getaway Prius.
