Very expected, a little early, but great to hear. Welcome to big orange country Mr. Downs. I would have left Duke too.

Great to see an intelligent local guy come play for the home team. For those who will complain about another 3*, the fact of the matter is that if I had to choose between an intelligent 3* TE from TN with some athleticism or an out of state 3* (i.e. - Rory Anderson), give me Downs all day long. Good pick-up, and happy to have BD on board.

but, but, but.......he's only a 3*. Dooley isn't bringing in all 5* players so we're gonna suck until we hire a coach that does.

All kidding aside, good pick up......keepin' comin' CDD.

Regarding the stars attached to these players, I believe I trust Dooley and his staff's ability to evaluate talent more so than Rival and Scout's.

Good recruiting news is especially welcome today! The "My Dad is a Classy Guy" thread nearly killed me today when I read it. I hope that this news helps to make that kind of stuff go away or at least become less frequent.

there will always be that guy....those guys are ruining this site....with all that being said, way to go DD, keep 'em coming in

4.6 speed!

I looked over the list of TEs .....
Downs is one of the best speed wise (Nationwide)
Throw in he's 6'6 and very athletic and
we're really fortunate he's coming to Knoxville!:clapping:

Does anyone know how this will affect Cameron Clear's decision?

Considering we are thin at TE after this year and CDD uses multiple TE sets, I would say no. Plus, some think clear will turn into a OT.

Have seen Crowder play since freshman year, he's a stud and would be a good addition and would likely see some rotation time in 2011...

damn right another 3 star. quit worrying about stars if the coaches think hes good enough what difference does it make what some idiot that works for the media thinks.
