...........And so it begins

Even better yet. One of my best friends who I had earlier texted the Downs' news has two sons at THS that are close friends with Brendan just texted me and said Brendan was at his house right now and wouldn't confirm or deny that he has committed to UT. My buddy, a vice pres at Bank of Tenn asked him about
the news he laughed and said... "you'll have to wait til' Friday".

It's great to be Vol fans - F.Y.I.

No worries

Lol at these numb nuts hatin on 3* recruits. They haven't even started their sr year of high school yet. Most will end up 4* and even if they stay 3* I trust the staffs ability to rate players over the haters on here! GBO!!!

Yay another 3 star.

Funny how all the people that get excited about the 3 star players are considered homers. Who is the bigger homer, the guy that gets excited about a 3 star commit or the guy that somehow thinks all the 5 star players want to play for Tennessee right now?

It will take a couple of years before Tennessee competes for the top tier players in recruiting. They can't sell a trusted name this year like a Monte Kiffin or Ed Orgeron and the last few years on the field isn't going to excite a lot of guys either. That doesn't mean Chuck Smith or Wilcox can't prove to be as good in the near future.

Good QB play will take you a long way in the SEC, look what UK did with Woodson. Not bad for a team full of low rated players. If Tennessee can get production out of Bray or Worley in a couple of years they will recruit much higher rated players. Not only that but Tennessee can sustain it due to tradition, facilites, etc..unlike the UK's of college football.

Not to mention that Downs may be the next Witten, who knows.

I watched this kid's video. His skills aren't developed as well as they will be. He needs to square up and get a good base. But he's tough and has good hands... and he is a very, very good athlete.

Now if there are a bunch of TE's with the ability to be not just good but great that want to sign with UT AND scored 30 on the ACT... just let us all know.

If Dooley brings in a class with fifteen 3-star guys (like a typical Virginia Tech class) and these guys have character and talent, stay out of trouble, and work their butts off (like a typical Virgina Tech class)... BRING IT. I am not a VT fan, but they certainly know how to build talent and play special teams.

So will we... under Dooley and staff.

GO VOLS!!

I think he wants to announce with Mack. Its good to see that Tennessee kids are getting the chance to play for and represent UT. Mack and Brendan will make fine players for the team, regardless of what the stargazers may think

May have gotten a little ahead of themselves.:dunno:

The VQ writer said he heard that it happened. Nothing concrete as of yet. We know its going to happen. Hubbs and the VQ crew probably know he as committed, but wanna give the kid his time in the spotlight. Until something comes out thats concrete, its smart to have the title as it is.

damn right another 3 star. quit worrying about stars if the coaches think hes good enough what difference does it make what some idiot that works for the media thinks.

How did that work out for Fulmer with his '06 and '08 classes?

Fulmer just got too lazy to go out and scout these kids. He let recruiting services do most of his work it seemed like

It doesn't matter who you recruit if they don't stay on the team. Where does the 09 class rank now without Nuke, Bryce, Mike Edwards, James Green or Darren Myles?

Yeah, I would prefer to get the best players possible too but sometimes it's better to judge a class once you see them on the field a few years. A lot of Tennessee's problems are due to attrition and not a lack in talent. We need help with depth and on the line right now, not exactly what looks sexy to Scout or Rivals.com.
