Brian and Tyler Gone Per Source (rumor)

Just wondering. Did you watch the game tonight? Cause if you did and you still don't believe we have another big man, then you need some glasses. His name is Hall and he played great tonight! Sure he had a few defensive breakdowns, but he was a force in the paint!

yeah, I did watch the game, I was talking about Hall and Chism being the 2 bigs......But after losing Negedu, and now possibly Williams, we are 1 true big man short......we need those 5 extra fouls come tourney time, IMO.......

The S&W under the driver's seat belongs to Smith. The Taurus (altered serial #) under the passenger seat belongs to Tatum. Information acknowledged by UT personnel. It's certain the Feds will be interested in the owner of the Taurus and I hope the owner faces federal felony charges. Who knows what gun charges the other 2 may face.

If this is true, why would Tyler get kicked off the team? Possession with intent to go armed is a class C misdemeanor and a small fine.

With Hall and Woolridge getting more game experience we won't remember Brian Williams by tournament time. I think Hall played great tonight considering he had been the 11th man before tonight.

Bruce will be able to use this to his advantage. If the team does not perform to the level the fans wanted, he simply points to the fact of losing his top player and one or more contributors.

Bruce pearl is the reason you watch Tennessee basketball. Dont say you watched every game when Buzz Lightyear coached us.

Some of us sat in a near-empty TBA and watched dozens of horrible games in the Wade Houston era. Just because you just jumped on the bandwagon when we started winning some doesn't mean everybody did.

If the OP is correct, I would think Bruce would try to play small ball and start Maze at the point, Hopson at the 2, Tatum at the 3, Prince at the 4, and Chism at the 5. We'll certainly get killed on the boards in a few games, but we'd have enough depth with Goins, McBee, Woolridge and Hall coming off the bench to press and run.

I love it when the bandwagon riders act as if everyone else is as totally lacking in loyalty as they are.

Haha, If you call season ticket holders since 1984 bandwagon, then Yes, I am a bandwagoner?

The only reason I went to the games when Buzz was coach was to watch his wife.

I agree, thats another reason why UT football tailgating will always be packed. Even If were 0-12, Layla will have a mob of people surrounding her as if shes John Lennon in '64

It's unbelievable, isn't it? A lot of these people never watched any UT basketball at all until a few years ago, and then when you criticize Pear's coaching they turn on you and shriek "How dare you! Tennessee basketball was nothing before Pearl!" Excuse me? If UT basketball was nothing, then why do I remember seeing Bernard King play at Stokely as a kid? Why did I sulk for two days when Ralph Sampson murdered us in the NCAAs? Why did I sit through all those crappy games while Houston was the coach, and why do I remember going crazy when we shocked Shaquille O'Neal and LSU in TBA?

People think that something begins the moment they turn their own self-important attention to it, and anything that happened before was irrelevant. It's ridiculous.

Whatever. Your implication was that Pearl is the only reason to watch Tennessee basketball. Since you're not a bandwaggoner, you must just have a crush on those meaty guns of his or something.

If we bring two back, we need to go ahead and bring them all back. If we're going to get taunted by opposing fans, we need to be making a run at the Final Four.

Nope, I told that to allvol123 because he/she said that BP will use this as a cop out if we play badly from here on out. I dont remember in 97 (for Instance) to be a huge uproar when a player would get in trouble or when we would have a suspension. Now Bruce comes here and sells the place out every night, all the time I hear hundreds of opinions, usually negative (regardless of the situation). So when I read that negative post about BP, I say, the reason you care as much as you do, is because Bruce pearl gave us something to care alot about.

make sense?

Sounds like what I would expect. However, with the close watch that Cam and Goins will be getting from now on, I don't see them hanging around much longer.

Kenny Hall couldn't have put it any better when he said Brian Williams nickname is, "Big Baby". All this guy does is complain and whine about every foul he commits, he gets stripped very easy, and can't hit a point blank layup. He did have very soft hands though and has pretty good speed for his size. He should have been a TE.

I disagree. Just as CLK did by bringing back JJ and dismissing the other two, CBP can show he's a disciplinarian by dismissing Tyler and Brian, but at the same time understanding by bringing back the less culpabale parties in Tatum and Goins. It may be a load of crap, but it looks good anyway. Plus, who cares about opposing fans anyway.

On the better/worse without Tyler debate, after watching that game last night I think it is very possible that we will be better offensively without him. There is something to the argument of the players standing around waiting on Tyler to save them and it was evident last night. Granted it was just one game but Charlotte is not a bad team.

That being said, I don't think there is any question that we'll be worse defensively without him. I don't know if the increase in offense or decrease in defense will be more significant but that will determine whether we are truley better or worse without him.

No opposing fan has any business criticizing how Bruce handled this situation, if this is how it turns out. Coming into the season, Tyler was arguably the best player on the team. I don't see how Bruce can be criticized for only dismissing 2/4, when one of the two is his best guy.

I think we're good enough to at least beat all of the teams on our schedule who aren't going to the NCAAs. That by itself will at least have us on the bubble. I don't expect us to go anywhere if we do get in, but at this point, making the NCAAs would be a success.

But keeping Tyler (if the guns were his) could hurt more than losing him.
I just blew my own mind.
