Brian and Tyler Gone Per Source (rumor)

Kenny Hall couldn't have put it any better when he said Brian Williams nickname is, "Big Baby". All this guy does is complain and whine about every foul he commits, he gets stripped very easy, and can't hit a point blank layup. He did have very soft hands though and has pretty good speed for his size. He should have been a TE.

His nickname has been Big Baby ever since he stepped foot in Knoxville. But I think it is stupid to rip him, considering how far he's come. He had really improved his post moves, but his touch was really off. Don't worry though, you wont have any more opportunities to critique his play in the near future.

oh and he was fantastic on the offensive glass.

Just wondering. Did you watch the game tonight? Cause if you did and you still don't believe we have another big man, then you need some glasses. His name is Hall and he played great tonight! Sure he had a few defensive breakdowns, but he was a force in the paint!

I was at the game and I was impressed with Hall, he can hit the short jumper and goes to the basket with authority. Needs more experience and upper body strength. Time will take care of both.

Nope, I told that to allvol123 because he/she said that BP will use this as a cop out if we play badly from here on out. I dont remember in 97 (for Instance) to be a huge uproar when a player would get in trouble or when we would have a suspension. Now Bruce comes here and sells the place out every night, all the time I hear hundreds of opinions, usually negative (regardless of the situation). So when I read that negative post about BP, I say, the reason you care as much as you do, is because Bruce pearl gave us something to care alot about.

make sense?

Your are correct>

If the OP is correct, I would think Bruce would try to play small ball and start Maze at the point, Hopson at the 2, Tatum at the 3, Prince at the 4, and Chism at the 5. We'll certainly get killed on the boards in a few games, but we'd have enough depth with Goins, McBee, Woolridge and Hall coming off the bench to press and run.

We've got killed on the boards several times this year so it wouldn't be anything new.

NO, I think it will help them, actually.......cancer removed.....now the other guys know they have to step it up......it was weird, like they would all wait for Tyler to do something, but he couldn't bc/ his offense was not very good...... I think they will be better off without him.....

...Exactly. I can't speak for these players because I have no inside information, but players might not be very good when they are staying out all night, boozing, doing pot, etc. I wondered about that in the USC game.

To answer another question in the thread, I think BW may have had failed drug (pot) test(s) in the past; and the pot was apparently in his backpack. Tyler may be the gun(s) owner. Plus, I understand that Tyler had some shoplifting issue from his Iowa days. I would also think that the fact that he was supposed to be a team leader would have an affect on the decision. If he is our team leader, then...maybe we need new leadership.

This is exactly what I am expecting to happen. In the long run, this will likely help the team. Actually, it may help them this year as well.

Getting the two back by SEC play would certainly help with depth. AND I think this team will be MORE fun and intriguing to watch now. JMO.

So can we actually have a "so-and-so gone" post when the players have actually been kicked off the team? This is becoming kinda confusing

No two ways about it, losing Tyler will hurt this team.

That's absurd! Tyler is a role player. A Scottie Pippen type. He has some skills but needs a star on the team because he can't handle the physical or mental pressure of being "the guy".

Keep telling yourself that.

While he isn't a "role player" as you suggest, he certainly doesn't have enough talent to be a leader. This team just isn't good enough to make it out of the 1st or 2nd round of the NCAA tourney. Period.

God, I get chills just thinking about JP Princess running backup point while Goins is on his hiatus. At least it would keep him away from the basket, where he is terrified of any contact. He's a p***y.

A Scottie Pippen type? Wow.

Pippen was probably the best all around defender of my lifetime and had the rise to go up in anyone's grill.

It's unbelievable, isn't it? A lot of these people never watched any UT basketball at all until a few years ago, and then when you criticize Pear's coaching they turn on you and shriek "How dare you! Tennessee basketball was nothing before Pearl!" Excuse me? If UT basketball was nothing, then why do I remember seeing Bernard King play at Stokely as a kid? Why did I sulk for two days when Ralph Sampson murdered us in the NCAAs? Why did I sit through all those crappy games while Houston was the coach, and why do I remember going crazy when we shocked Shaquille O'Neal and LSU in TBA?

People think that something begins the moment they turn their own self-important attention to it, and anything that happened before was irrelevant. It's ridiculous.

Nothing like Dale Brown choking Carlos Groves, Dyron Nix and his moist jerry curl, Dale Ellis and a silky smooth 15 foot jumper, Michael Brooks, Tyrone Beaman, Tony the wizard White, Lang Wiseman, the McCallie wonder John Snodgrass, and the last guy...I can't remember his name, white guy, always tan as hell, Mark something?

Anyways, there are several people here that have watched UT hoops for many years.
