Yes. He had surgery that night at a Bristol hospital. Wikipedia says he suffered a fractured pelvis, fractured right hand, and compound fracture to his left ankle.

I think had he not been hurt the Legends race probably would have continued. Sad to see it go. It was fun to see some of those old timers out there roughing it up around a great track.

The racing seemed to be a bit better than the crap that we've had to suffer through in the Cup series the last several years, and I honestly don't know how the trucks compare with the cup cars. Still, it's not a good sign for the one groove racing that used to make Bristol the best race of the year when you've got the leader ALWAYS choosing to start on the outside on restarts. There don't seem to be two distinct grooves, but the fastest lane seems to be one lane up from the bottom, with the inside lane being just ever so slightly slower. I'm afraid we're going to be stuck watching a lot of side-by-side again this time. Hopefully they can observe what happens this fall and maybe continue tweaking the track a little bit till they get the racing back close to what it used to be.

I don't know that the trucks are really a good measure to go by. I will watch the Nationwide race and then start to form and opinion.

Me too. I'll watch the Nationwide race before deciding if I want to go on Saturday night. I'm not spending the money to watch the same crap race that it's been for the past 3-4 years.

Anybody watch Nationwide practice? Trevor Bayne was fastest in the "We Back Pat" car. I hope Bayne can show out this weekend and have a good finish.

New - Old Bristol sucks.

Never thought I'd see Smoke and Danica battling each other at Bristol.
