British Open

I called it. He melted. Maybe not in a nuclear fashion, I only saw the front 9. But it seemed other players were shooting under par for the day and he throws up a +2.

Sergio has always had a little prima donna thing going on and at different points in his career has not done real well in Tiger's shadow; especially when he gets criticized. He also went through a problem with slow play a couple of years ago and there was the episode at the Ryder Cup where once the Euros clinched he took off running down the fairway celebrating . . . with the matches still going on.

Sorry, I don't see how that proves your point about him being annoying.

I'm not trying to prove a point. He's immature and he plays slow golf. That's enough to be annoying in my book.

I've never seen him act immature, if anything, he's interesting to watch... unlike most of those stiffs. Most of them are about as interesting as a snail crossing the road.

Do you watch very much golf? (This is an honest question)

He's very exciting... why do you think the crowd loves him so much?
Because he was an underdog for years and the crowd can identify very well with a guy who gags under pressure. Pros with foibles are much more enduring than those with machinelike precision.

Mickelson's got an ego unmatched on tour and his peers universally dislike him. They're probably most qualified to render judgment.

Callin ya out Papa go post you pic:yes:

It should have never come down to one putt.

...and those comments from Garcia are precisely why I find him annoying. He's moaning about bad bounces and being cursed. Serge doesn't get that he consistently hocks hairballs in big spots, everybody gets the same bounces and that the principle of gravity is constant for everyone.

Golf Channel made a good point last night about scar tissue building up for Sergio. The more bad memories, the harder to leap the hurdle.

Tiger looks like his mind is not on the golf course by the way. That singular focus he is famous for missed the plane to Scotland...

He should have made the putt to win, in regulation.
8 foot straight putts are no bargain. the real mistake on 18 was leaving a mile to the house with a forced carry over the bern.

Fortune simply smiled on Harrington. He hit the worst 3rd on 18 in regulation that I could even imagine. The up and down from there was great. He got an unbelievably good hop on 17 in the playoff, but missed the 5 footer (which admittedly broke more than Sergio's putt would have suggested). His wedge into 18 in the playoff was as poor of a wedge shot as you'll see a pro hit. He two putted and the rest is history, but he was gagging ferociously at the end. Finally, have I mentioned that Porig is the slowest player on earth?

The day he truly figures out that belly putter, lookout, 'cause he hits it as well as anyone. I can't stand the guy, but have to give credit where it's due - he can flat hit the ball. I mean, have you seen those Michelob commercials.
