bruce is our coach and we should stick by him

If we're getting major penalties ore he's getting a year suspension, he should be gone, period. Especially if we avoid major penalties by getting rid of him.

And fyi, we could have hired Bill Self years ago. UT can get a good coach.

Bill Self what a laugh.

Why would we want Bill Self when we have Bruce Pearl? Bruce is a better floor coach.. he proved that last year when he beat him with walk ons. We have one of the top 5 coaches in the game.

not sure one head-to-head is much of an indicator unless you're also saying Kevin O'Neill should be rehired

I'm okay with Pearl staying if we're not going to get severe penalties. If we do, he has to go, especially if we can avoid the penalties.

I agree with this statement about Pearl. The person that needs to be fired now is Mike Hamilton.

We will not find a better coach to come here than BP. Not gonna happen, sorry.

Would BS go out and buy you pizza? Would BS paint his body orange? Would BS go to student lounges and get up on tables and give you a pep rally? CBP is the real deal. A monentary lapse in judgement is not enough reason to dismiss him. Is he perfect - absolutely not. Forgiven - yes.

It's kind of amusing when people talk about coaches or teams as if we, as fans, have some kind of personal relationship with them.

It's like we're being admonished to stand by a cheating spouse or something.

He's the coach of the team and we don't have a say in the matter. We can either continue to support the team by going to games or watching them on TV, or we can stop. Our personal opinions on Pearl won't make a difference.

So stick by him . . . or not. Whatever.

Here's what I love, the people that don't appear to think the program ends with Pearl are considered "haters", yet those of you that DO believe UT basketball ends if Pearl is gone act almost like you want it to happpen.

All you preaching gloom and doom and the return to Buzzball and Wade Houston, are you going to stop supporting the program? Will TBA be empty because YOU stop going to the games? Wil you stop watching the games on TV? Do you love UT Basketball or do you merely love Pearl?

Who's the real "hater" here? Those of us who don't think Pearl = UT basketball believe the program can survive just fine, the rest of you are the ones almost acting giddy about it's downfall.

I've tried to get back into this mindset, but find it impossible given what has transpired. I appreciate your us against the world outlook, unfortunately the honeymoon is clearly over and the shouting is only beginning, I fear.

Maybe if we win a whole bunch of games and there are no significant penalties, some of us that were the most vocal in our support of Pearl will return to hyperbole. As for now, we'll wait until the hammer falls or doesn't.

It's all about the players and their progress this season for this Reformed Slurper...
